That was my mistake - I should have explained what I'd done, but was working quickly and posted it without thinking how others might misinterpret the image

You could use the Census Source Convert feature to create a rich-text transcription. Once you select the source you will need to use the 'Add Headers' as there won't be a grid to enter data into. Glad to know it's not just me who had trouble finding the right menu, and I agree, having it available via right click would be most helpful, and far more intuitive. It doesn't exactly jump out at you does it! I knew I'd found it before, some time ago, and took me a while to find where it was again....

Go to Diagram > Family Connection Mapper, and you can configure the colour there. You can add extra relationships and have different coloured routes.
