Re: moving a project folder...
Thanks for the detailed instructions. Sorry for not giving the full path. All you've said makes sense. And, yes - all the new V7 projects have different names from the V6 ones except the FH Sample project. Out of curiosity, why do those V6 projects have to have been converted before I can move the V...

Re: moving a project folder...
I want them in the Family Historian project folder where they belong. And yes, all the ones I've created since updating to v7 are in the wrong spot (for some reason, I put them in the RM8 Beta folder - don't even ask  ). All my older projects from V6, are where they belong. See the screen capt...

Re: moving a project folder...
Nothing says MyProj, but it is in my Project Window when I open FH 7.
Not sure what I've done. *sigh*
There are definitely subfolders.
Several of my projects are in the wrong folder.
Do I try moving even if it doesn't say MyProj?
Thanks for your patience.

moving a project folder...
So, I did a stupid thing, and accidentally placed a FH project into a folder for another piece of software. Before it gets too big, I want to move it. How do I move it safely without causing a disaster?
Thanks in advance.

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
It definitely has its uses - specifically to navigate elsewhere in the record set. I often like the check the first images in any given set as they'll often reveal very specific details about it to include in my citations (Parish registers, census returns etc.) However, it needs to function as it do...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
I imagine they will implement the change. I sent my comments via both FB and the Contact page at FMP. Received responses both times - the second had the amended one that acknowledged many people were commenting on the need for that one tweak. I'm just surprised no-one raised it during testing. Were ...

Re: Keyboard oddity in notes field
Good to know there's a solution. And my dad's side is from that area of Poland as well...I hadn't thought of using a macro to input it to save me the time copying and pasting the diacritics. Calico Pie immediately suggested that my macro was outputting ANSI characters rather than UTF8 text. They wer...

Making a copy of my project...
A stupid question here, but, I don't want to mess anything up. In his intro to using Ancestral Sources, Nick says: "It is highly recommended that you work with a copy of your project/file until you are sure of how to use Ancestral Sources and have decided on the settings you require." How do I make ...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
It appears that they've moved it to the bottom right. Very odd. Overall, I don't mind the new viewer - once they allow us to minimize the film strip (which is handy for navigation), it will be just fine for me. fhtess65, Not all images have the facility, and those that don't, don't show the toggle b...

Re: FMP census and the 1939 register
They appear to have moved it to the bottom of the page - see screen capture. You have to click on Linked transcripts, toggle and then click to view...extra steps for sure. OTOH, we can now more easily move around the record set with the film strip - though it would be nice to minimize it. I passed t...

Re: FH7 report paragraph fix - new version v7.0.1.1
And I'm still at 7.0.0, which the program tells me is the most recent version. Interesting. Not that I'm too concerned, I just find it curious. Teresa Didn't know there was one. Interesting that FH7 doesn't indicate that updates are available, mine says 7.0.1 is the latest version. Perhaps CP are st...

Re: Editing a custom citation template?
I tried as you suggested, and while it said it had been updated, yet again, when I tried to cite with it, the {Type} field wasn't there. Not sure if this is user error (still entirely possible) or a minor bug. From memory you need to synch the changes (Tools > Source Template Definitions, select the...

Re: Editing a custom citation template?
Hi Helen, I realize now I had found how to Save, but it didn't (and still doesn't) appear to have "taken"... I'm attaching a screen capture of the modified template (adding {Type} field at the beginning of the Footnote). Below the template, is a screencap of the citation window, showing that the {Ty...

Editing a custom citation template?
In RootsMagic, when I create a citation template, if I find something that needs tweaking, I can edit it and the change(s) show up right away. I have tried editing a couple of the templates I've created in FH7, only there doesn't seem to be a way to save them, so I have to create a brand new one and...

Helen - I just tried out the Birth Entry and really like it! I find AS too time consuming (and, at times, confusing) for me and prefer to stay in FH only, so your plugin is fantastic
Thanks so much. Looking forward to the others.
