Re: Setting Birth or Baptism as primary
I can understand. Doesn't work in all instances, however, as in my family, there are several ancestors/relations baptized well after they were born - as in teens/early 20s. Fortunately for me, at least for my direct line ancestors, I also have a birth cert to use. Ah, the challenges of genealogy wor...

Not yet. I'd left it in Wish List to see what happened, but will open a ticket as well.tatewise wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021 16:36Teresa, have you contacted CP via http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php to get their reaction?

New "Copy to clipboard" feature at FMP...
I discovered when looking at a record transcript this morning that we can now "Copy to clipboard" - it's very cool! Even if the info needs some corrections (as we all know the transcripts do contain errors), it's still so helpful. And it pastes beautifully. If you have a FMP subscription, you might ...

Re: Allow font size changes in ALL windows
Tess, You can also control your monitor resolution to make everything larger. That might be your best solution. It is fairly easy to do, even temporarily while you use the FH software. The problem with making various font sizes is that everything on the form can break and you have to redesign every...

Re: Plugins planned/in progress
Thanks for the extra info. That would be helpful if I can ever find the time to really study and then create my own templates. I haven't yet tried the plugin for RM templates...will have to do so at some point. So much genealogy, so little time! Teresa The original background was more general than j...

Re: Plugins planned/in progress
Hi Jane, Thanks for the explanation. Beyond me, but I'm glad it will help plug-in developers. Teresa :D For the record (although most authors will be aware already), a plugin to tabulate source template definitions for display in the Query Window and/or export as CSV for external interrogation. Earl...

For the record (although most authors will be aware already), a plugin to tabulate source template definitions for display in the Query Window and/or export as CSV for external interrogation. Early June. Sorry, Mark, I don't quite get what this plug-in would do, though it sounds intriguing. Would y...

Re: Plugins planned/in progress
I would love to see all of these, especially one to download online media from the big genealogy sites. Given the issues both RM and FTM still have with the api from Ancestry, I can understand the issues you're experiencing. The GRO Index Source Citation would be fantastic as well! I'm in awe of all...

Re: Odd behaviour in footnote from Generic source...
Hi Lorna, Sorry for missing that key point. By going and doing that, however, I figured out how to fix the issue - there was an extra code that I didn't need, so I just deleted it and the problem resolved itself. Of course, I realize I forgot to note what that piece of code was, but I can deal with ...

Odd behaviour in footnote from Generic source...
Me again, with another nitpicky question. I have discovered that, for the nonce, I find it easier to use Generic sources (mostly time - I just don't have enough of it to get into the nitty gritty of editing templates). That said, I noticed an oddity in the footnote from a Generic Source I created la...

Re: Multiple Source Citations
"add my .02, FWIW" fooled me for a while as I could not work out what source you were adding, but then it dawned on me that it means "add my tuppence worth, For What Its Worth". Sorry - talking Canadian, not British... I did debate using tuppence, as I use a lot of Brit expressions as well, ...

Re: Multiple Source Citations
I'll just add my .02, FWIW, as I also cite every piece of evidence for a fact. No ONE document can provide us with absolute proof of any fact. As genealogists, we collect as much evidence as we can, analyze, and then, if possible, draw a conclusion. Even that conclusion can always be re-evaluated if...

Re: Enter Reference ID warning...
I strongly recommend you should use the Ref ID box for your reference/citation rather than the 'Other Info', there's no reason I can think of to use the Other Info instead. If you would prefer AS to not automatically fill in the start of the Reference ID then go to the Options (under the Tools menu...

Enter Reference ID warning...
I'm fairly new to using AS and a tad confused. I just finished entering a 1911 census entry for my great-grandfather - the Reference ID was auto filled, yet when I go save the entry, I get a warning about not having a Reference ID, yet as far as I can see, it's been auto filled. What am I missing? S...

Thanks, Mark - I'll have a go this weekend and see what happens. Sounds very interesting and I'm curious to see the results :) Teresa The plugin is now ready for more general user testing. Re: Import of RM7 Citations
Teresa, for most scenarios it will work well, especially if you make little use of the Bibliography. However, the publically published plugins needed to work for as many scenarios as there are users. So any limitations need to be made clear to users of the Bibliography that include Citation-specifi...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
So that offers little hope of assistance with FM imports of RM Templates, which if FH offered Direct Import from RM then CP would have to consider how to handle RM Citation metafields in the RM Bibliography. The only chink is they say they will investigate and check it out. I'm a "bad" genealogist,...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
@Teresa, the finished product (hopefully by end of this week) will import all your custom RM templates directly, along with re-creating all the source data granularity that is lost on the normal GEDCOM import. Going forward, you can create new templates directly in FH. It does everything that RM do...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
If we do this test with a test database and have the templates created, can they then be added to our current permanent one?
Very intrigued by this as I create templates in RM all the time and have a lot that I could use in FH.
