Re: Potential Probate Plugin
For me, even just putting the basics of the will in using AS would be great - I could add the rest in a note. Just my .02. The more I use AS, the more I like it and wish I could use it for all sources, but totally understand why that's not possible. I'm just grateful it exists and that I'm finally u...

Re: Births Index template for AS?
Thanks - and yes, I do the same :) Teresa In the note associated with Birth Index entries, I also include the mother's maiden name (mmn) when provided. This records all the information included in the Index entry and helps resolve conflicting information. Similarly, for Death Index entries, I also i...

I too would like to add my thanks...I'm getting far more comfortable with AS (and loving it), but tutorials are definitely welcome

Re: Internal FindMyPast Links Broken
I too can confirm this behaviour on the FMP website accessed through a browser, not through FH. It's been worse the last week or two...one wonders if more people are now on the site accessing the 1921 census and overloading the system. I use FMP directly (i.e. without FH) and since last week I have ...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.7
I had thought I was testing the most recent version, but it turns out I was back on 7.5.6...and no, I never have "always on top" ticked.
Will work with it again this week now I have 7.5.7 installed and let you know if this oddity recurs. I'd never had the issue before, so fingers crossed.

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.7
Twice while working with this version, the image viewer screen has frozen :( Of course, as I'm bad and generally have at least 6 apps open on my laptop at the same time, it may just be a RAM thing. I can still scroll up and down in the image, but if I try clicking on any of the buttons, to zoom in o...

Re: Question re Sources in reports...
Lorna, I had checked against Whole, and still didn't see it. However, your third tip finally did it. FH is just so much more powerful than RM and Legacy in its ability to dig right down - I'm still learning my way around and really appreciate all the help I get here on the forum. Thanks again, Teres...

Re: Question re Sources in reports...
Mike, Thanks also for the reminder about the plug-in, and letting me know that records with 0 citations can be deleted. RM made quite a mess with TreeShare, which I'm slowly trying to clean up here in FH. I'm using a collateral rather than a direct line ancestor as a test. If I mess him up, he has f...

Adrian, The All tab didn't reveal it...For next time I'll remember the plug-in. For this time, Lorna's second set of instructions worked :) Teresa I would suggest looking at the ALL tab for the person concerned, and then clicking through each line one-by-one and watching the Sources box for which so...

Re: Question re Sources in reports...
I figured that it had something to do with the name, but I've checked everywhere I can think for where those Ancestry sources are tied to his name, but each place shows me only the new sources. At least now you've confirmed my suspicions. I'll have to figure this out as I'm going to do this work on ...

Question re Sources in reports...
This is an odd one (well, at least to me). As I work on individuals in my database, I've been replacing the old, horrible Ancestry generated sources that were imported from my RootsMagic database with those generated by AS or created with FH7 templates. However, I noticed that when I generated an In...

Re: Births Index template for AS?
Thanks, Chris - I went ahead and did that. Just wanted to ensure I wasn't missing something in AS. I appreciate your input. Teresa :D I certainly do as Nick suggests, which is add a note with the GRO info to the birth event (and marriage, death/burial etc.) i.e. GRO: Q4 1937, Birmingham, 6d, 699 for...

Re: Births Index template for AS?
Thanks, Nick - I went ahead and did this while waiting for your response, as I suspected this might be the case. I definitely needed to replace the substandard one I had from Ancestry (my project is based on a file imported from RootsMagic, where I used to run TreeShare). As I'm doing a full profile...

Births Index template for AS?
I don't have the birth certificate for one of my third great-uncles, but I know for certain the Births Index entry at the GRO is correct. Is there a way to cite that in AS? I don't seem to be given the option for that template. Again, likely user error...

<SNIP> Do more "modern countries" (e.g. Australia, Canada, US etc.) not have this problem because as they were settled a "township/county/state/country" type hierarchy was imposed? Re: FamilySearch Id
<SNIP> (2) The FS Family Tree (FSFT) is becoming the definitive family tree of all mankind, as its many initial data errors are being eliminated. Any genealogy package which does not support meaningful integration with FSFT will lose its relevance. I beg to differ. It's so full of errors. I work on...

Re: Web Clipper?
Thanks, everyone - I'm well-versed in other ways to clip (I use Snag-it), but after seeing the video about using the web clipper, I thought it was cool to try, then confused when it didn't seem to work. Now I understand it's not perfect rather than me doing something wrong.
Thanks again
