Re: Issues with FH 7
Excellent suggestion, I'm holding back on updating to v7 as switching to a new computer, and tidying up my v6 files. It would be good to see any suggestions on preparatory work to complete before upgrading to v7

Re: Copy & paste as (unwanted) table...
One trick I use to get rid of unwanted formatting when copying and pasting is to paste into a plain text file in notepad and copy on from there.

Had exact same issue on new computer yesterday. Reported site as safe and carried on. Got FH and AS working fine, using backups and restore. Once certain as well be looking at FH v7. One change at a time.

Re: Information re a historic Birth Certificate application.
Does the certificate have the date it was purchased on? (Ones I have purchased do). If so does the date give any pointers as to who or why it was purchased? Which people were around or what events were taking place?

There are indeed two links on that page. The second wanted to download an exe to which l got a message 'could not download safely'. The first seemed okay.

Re: A visual marker for a 'provisional' relative
I use the Media tab in this way. I have images for brick walls, dna links, single child families, people with no known offspring, singletons and question marks. I don't have images of many of my ancestors so it provides a useful at a glance state of a family group.

Re: Ancestral Sources - Remove Flag Support?
I do use flags, but to be honest the only consistency is that derived by using AS. I would miss that but it is not a deal breaker

Re: FH stops at random times with new Windows release
I recently upgraded Windows to the latest release (Windows 10 Home, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.460) Just checked my Windows Version and it is slightly different from above. Mine is Windows 10 Home, Version 2004, OS Build 19041. 450 , or is yours a typo? (With experience pack 120.2212.310 - whatev...

Re: Is it still possible to order a death certificate as a PDF??
Yes, within limits. I usually check the reference by doing an online search. A button appears allowing you to order a pdf. I've ordered several in the last few weeks. They take about a week to be ready to download.

Windows 10 build 2004
I just updated one of my computers to the latest update - billed as 2004. FH seems to run OK, tried a few plugins also. It take several hours to install this update:(

Re: Linked errors with new media
@David ~ Can you go into a bit more detail. You are talking about the File > Validate error mesage? JP Ford says the Validate command automatically 'fixes' the problem, but just viewing the Media Record does not. Exactly what do you do to resolve the problem? I start with a refreshed Sample Project...

I frequently get this error after adding media. Am running Windows 10, FH6.2.7 on standard PC.
To resolve I view all the media links via the media record.

I also use FT Analyser but it's currently having an issue with how I record census references; I'm following that up on the appropriate forum.

Windows has an S mode which inhibits downloading apps not from the Microsoft Store - though it might not be relevant here.
The Restart option referred to by Mike is well worth knowing about. It is to a good alternative to the Shut down and reboot standard fix.
