David, those free records don't list the free Lincolnshire Parish Records!
So I see, how very odd!

Re: Display Media File Name only

There could be multiple \ and multiple dots. Get the string length, find last dot position and last\ position then you use a mid string function. Might help to reverse the string.

Re: New FindMyPast Premium Subscription

Hi all, I spoke to FindMyPast just now as my pro subscription expires 26 October 2022. They could not upgrade the renewal to a Premium subscription - the advice I received was to allow the renewal to go through as usual with the 15% loyalty discount, then upgrade at the rate of £19.99 - they could n...

Brian, Arthur -- thanks. My pro subscription is up for renewal at the start of November, so I'll contact them in advance as Arthur suggests.
Mine is due 26th October, so will be doing the same :D

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2

Hi Nick, Many thanks for your work on this. The two issues I reported have been fixed :) I converted my sole 1831 Census to rich text easily. One issue I have noted previously but not mentioned is in relation to the Autotext Fit button. It disappears immediately an edit is made to the Autotext. I li...

Re: Unexpected conflicted copy in OneDrive

We used to get this at work when sharing files, and two of us had the same file set to always keep on local machine. Stopping doing this mostly solved the issue as I recall (was a couple of years ago now). I'm using one-drive, windows 11 and FH7 all fully up-to-date. I haven't experienced that issue...

Re: Unhandled exception

Hi Nick, I took me a few attempts to repeat this. However this following is consistent: 1. Load AS from within FH for Census entry 2. Select Census year (am using England 1881) 3. Click add unrelated individual - do not enter name or gender 4. click OK 5. either response to the yes/no message box re...

Hi Nick, Yes, it is {YEAR}{DATE.MONTH.NUM2}{DATE.DAY2} {SOURCETYPE} @ {PLACE} {PLACE.SHORT}: {REF} - {KEYPERSON.GN} {KEYPERSON.SN.CAPS} I repeat the place info to help with reversing, so it reads from largest to smallest. No Short title used, see image. Thanks, David AS Method 1 Options Screen.jpg

Unhandled exception

Hi Nick, I just experienced a repeatable Unhandled exception error running AS v7.4.4 I had opened AS, set the repository to TNA and the Census year 1881. Then on adding an unrelated individual who now appears in the Find Name selection box I get this error: AS Error Screenshot 2022-09-20 175851.jpg ...

Auto-text templates, associated person types, census templates and links between places and countries are saved in XML files in this locatio...

Re: Census UK Tab - my take

Heather, I agree with the two Mikes. I made the customisations to make FH V7 look more like FH V6. I don't use the Templates however I do use Ancestral Sources (Thank you to Nick). I do like the 'rich text' formatting feature in FH V7. I find that very useful in Text from Source to create tables and...
