Re: Name Problems
now THAT's computing!! thanks miketate I thought I would be slick and do this: if #tblTwin > 0 then fhOutputResultSetColumn("Twin#", "text", tblTwin, #tblMML, 52, "align_left") end but it wrote the blank columns with header anyway. do I have to do separate result columns with switching logic? if #tb...

Re: Name Problems
no the right adjust is not a mistake, its where I left it when I could put two spaces behind it.
the recordptr is left over from some other copy of something, it would be nice to have a strict in depth lint for lua but I dont know where one is.

Re: Name Problems
the number from FaG memorial must be aligned right (for stare and compare) it is immediately followed by the http://www.find.... (twice, once for buddy and once to check the formation of url so if dup or badly formed url I can click and go to it) the space between the two is hard to look in, so I ad...

ok. perhaps I am not understanding, for simplifed discussion I have: Al 1 ben 2 fred 2 josh 2 ralph 3 ed 4 my resultant table needs to be: ben 2 fred 2 josh 2 since they are the duplicates, and in most cases related, and one of them will on FaG contain links to the others. additional item has croppe...

Re: Name Problems
that bit I understand, though the doc is a little murky, but I didnt code that one, just used a simpler one. it is apparent that parameters are positional, but I never thought to use a kinked parm in that I thought it would throw the pointer out into the ozone. In most of my coding career, if you di...

Re: Name Problems
local strOldPage = fhGetValueAsText(ptrWork) this worked, looking at it I see why, but still a little shaky on why the old code didnt. I also needed to write strNewPage on line 5. This is going to help with the stare and compare, found 2 more on a quick run thru And earlier you had some code that wo...

Re: Name Problems
I try to be meticulous and accurate when entering information into my gedcom, nevertheless I am riddled with small errors. as a sideline to my FaG Cemetery Table (all other situations have been worked out by your help) I am doing a cut down report to search for one type of error: In the ~.SOUR.PAGE ...

Re: Name Problems
I did it so its: Surname, Given All Sr. and avoided the problem altogether. also did the buddy field, not a big thing, like 4 lines or so inserted. Re: PDF Reports
Just above the Save Report As button there is a Printer Setup button. What do you think that might do? Mines to the left. I think it does nothing whatsoever, having filled it out and asked for landscape and fit to page and it doesnt do that. What do you think it might do? I saw long ago that they ar...

Re: Name Problems
I guess I see that. thanks. Just seems more straightforward and efficient to me, ...

PDF Reports
I have been sloshing around in the minimal pdf stuff. and see no way to make a hyperlink indication (although they do work) and no way to change portrait or landscape on the save as .. reports ...some of them (mine) are prima facie ugly and not obvious what page 2 is about thingie.
