Re: Exporting to Gedsite format problem
Seems odd that All Spouses is not the default?! Mike, It's not the default because in most cases, a couple without children has some other event that describes their relationship better than showing the partner/spouse with a lifespan and nothing else. I am not suggesting that the couple is not a fa...

Did you select the option to show family sections for childless couples?craigmollekin wrote:John - I can see no reference to Therese from this page: http://mollekin.net/swintonrecord/g3/p2015.htm#i50373 But yet she appears in the Family Explorer.

Re: Exporting to Gedsite format problem
Contrast this to WLS' parents - William Sheppard has a similar Family Explorer entry but also "Family: Maria Elizabeth Reynolds". It's that display that's slightly misleading - it ought to say " Spouse : Maria Elizabeth Reynolds". Or the partner should appear whether married or not. Adrian, Using t...

Re: Exporting to Gedsite format problem
Adrian; that is an interesting observation, one that I missed. So Gedsite is recording the relationship, just not making it visible in the actual person's profile. Craig, That is not correct. There are several options for the heading of the family sections and the "Family:" prefix is only one. If t...

Re: Gedsite
Mike, {abbr} is supported as best it can be within GedSite. GedSite does not have a concept of a Tag Label abbreviation, and no use for one, so GedSite translates {abbr} to the Tag Type label. In the next version of GedSite, the following date variables will yield the same value as {date}, but witho...

Re: Exporting to Gedsite format problem
As explained in the Help, the Export Gedcom File plugin makes almost no changes to the Gedcom file apart from adding Sentence Template definitions. This is at the specific request of the GedSite author John Cardinal. So you need to send your comments to him. Mike, Just to be clear, it was not my in...

Re: Gedsite
I don't think GedSite web pages support any form of sorting or filtering - yet! Mike, At present, GedSite's filtering is limited to living people. You can omit living people, or you can include living people, or you can include living people but show only a small subset of the information about the...

Re: Gedsite
One unique feature is the ability to use the narrative Sentence Templates from FH to compose the GedSite web page narratives, although not all codes and functions are supported yet. Mike, I think GedSite supports all FH codes, but it does not support all options on all codes. So, for example, GedSi...

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
I believe Calico Pie are quite happy to be contacted directly. Be aware that most entries in the Wish List have been there for many years and unlikely to ever get implemented. OK, I thought the wish list was a semi-offical way to request enhancements because the FH site mentions it ( link ). I'll s...

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
Resolving the sentences into "_SENT" tags on export might be easier and more efficient than exporting the templates as they will then be formatted using all the power in the program prior to being exported, especially as there is already support for resolving the sentences with a function. Preforma...

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
Mike, I am not very familiar with the FH environment. I've used the program, of course, but I am not an active member of the FH community and unaware of advanced usage techniques or how to best to work with Calico. I am certainly not against extending a plug-in to provide the fact definitions in a G...

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
My upcoming GedSite program makes web sites from GEDCOM files. It is similar to my popular Second Site program, but Second Site works exclusively with TMG databases. GedSite works with GEDCOM files. GedSIte understands sentence templates/definitions from FH, RootsMagic, and Legacy. FH includes templ...

Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
Please include fact definitions in the GEDCOM file via custom tags. Other programs do this, including RootsMagic and Legacy. The fact definitions would include, at minimum, the fact name, label, template, and any associated roles and their templates. So, for Birth, the GEDCOM would include something...
