Between the laptop idea, and using Google Drive for syncing, and understanding that a single GEDCOM file is the master source for FH, I feel like I have quite a few options now!

Personally I keep all my licence codes etc in a spreadsheet which is in my Documents folder which is backed up all the time. That way I can just cut and paste as needed. I do that, too, and also email myself a copy of the info via Gmail. That way it's in the cloud as well - searchable, cut-and-past...
