Re: Incorrect Relationship to Root
Hi Mike - figured out the Standard Query part of my post above. As in save as Custom Query after inserting your script =TextIf( Exists(%INDI.SEX%), Relationship(FileRoot()), TextIf( Relationship(FileRoot()) = "", "", "Undefined")) But still left wondering if this could cause an issue elsewhere in FH...

Re: Incorrect Relationship to Root
Hi Mike I have noticed an issue when running a standard query 'All Individuals' in that this query continues to report these un-sexed individuals as Great Uncles. Can you help to provide guidance on how to fix that standard query as you did above with the script that solved the problem for the Indiv...

Re: Incorrect Relationship to Root
Hi Mike
I guess I was expecting to see something like 'Undefined' as I would say the Relationship calculation should not automatically default to assuming the Sex is of a Male!

Incorrect Relationship to Root
Hi Forum I chose to have AS create 2 x Individuals with no declared Sex. EG, they were reported as Children who have died on the 1911 UK census. Both Individuals were created correctly in FH with no Sex, but now show as my Great Uncle in the Individuals List. Even though the sex is undeclared. See t...

Correcting Where Within Source for Name Only Witnesses

Re: Count of derived records
Hi Mike I finally remembered where this would be useful. It is in the reports from the Tools > Work with Data function. It would be handy if these reports displayed a count of records contained in each 'listing' such as Places, Addresses. ETC. This would be useful when comparing migrated records fro...

Re: Note fields contain formatting characters
Hi Colin Many thanks. Your video solved the problem. Where you select the offending data and paste it into the Find box. I highlighted the ASCII 'CAN' marker, copy pasted it into the Find box where it was then shown as the Box symbol and replaced with Blank. Bingo. Thank you so much that will save a...

Re: Modify Source Citation - Where In Source Field
Hi Mike Many thanks for the reply. Yes AS has an option to do what I want but I discovered this after creating around 60+ Citations =, so just need to back track a little and manually correct those having now set the option on. Is there a Source where Cited feature in FH? That given a Source would l...

Re: Note fields contain formatting characters
Hi All Contributors to this Post
FYI
Notepad ++ describes this box as an ASCII attribute with CAN as the description and 24 as its ASCII character value. I'm struggling with Notepad ++ and cannot find a way to remove this box. Any Notepad++ experts out there - all suggestions welcome.

Hi User Group I'm quite new here so forgive me. I can't seem to find the link required to create a subscription to a particular forum. Re: Note fields contain formatting characters
Hi All Thanks for the input. I agree it appears to be a Carriage Return character, or Line Feed. I'm not sure if these are the same things. The Find / Replace tool only goes so far. So it appears the box is visible to the eye, but not always 'found' when using the F/R tool set. I am manually cleanin...

Count of derived records
Would it be possible to add a count function on various listings, eg, if you opened a Named List the record count is displayed somewhere. This would be a very much welcome general record count field in most if not all generated listings.
Thank you
