Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Here are the results of a number of tests following Mark's suggestions. All tests were made using the Sample Project, one As Is and another after firstly running the Sample Project Reset feature from the Project Window. I then copied the Sample Project from the FH Sample Project Folder and pasted th...

Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Hi Victor, thanks for joining the post. When you say you copy to FTM do you create a new FTM project each time or do you in fact use the Merge > File feature that I'm having issues with?

Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Thanks all for participating in this issue, much appreciated. Mark has nailed what appears to be the problem everything I have done to cause this has been internal to FH. I am not returning gedcom files from FTM to FH. The suggestion to test with the Sample file is a good one to try to narrow down w...

Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
I forgot to mention that using the Match Threshold of both Min and Max does not significantly reduce the number of 'new' individuals suggested in FTM.

Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Um, not quite sure what is happening here. I imported the GEDCOM i had created for use in FTM into FH as a first step to evaluating what FH would make of the file Merge process. This first step went through the validation process and produced two log files (see attached). Looking more closely at the...

Re: FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Thank you both for your comments. @Mike - the records marked as review are Surname only individuals with a sequential ID number. I create these Individuals where a 1911 Census reports number of children born and died. If I cannot account for difference by real named persons I create a surname only i...

FH7 to FTM2019 File Merge Issue
Hi All I have tried the FTM2019 Facebook Group to answer this and reported my issue to Mckiev. No joy. I'm hoping someone here does the same as I'm trying to do and has an answer to my issue. When I export a GEDCOM file for my FH7 database into FTM2019 (with latest update) all goes well and people c...

Privatise or Remove certain Media links from Gedcom Export
Hi All I would like to export my FH7 tree into Family Tree Maker 2019 and then Sync with Ancestry. In doing so I would like to privatise (remove) media for Sources that are UK-GRO related, meaning the Source has a image of the Death, Birth or Marriage Certificate. I do not want these images to be im...

Re: Where Born
Replying to Trevors comment about copy paste. In the current AS version this still needs to be actioned for each individual Place Field. I did request something similar to Nick some time ago. Whereby you copy the first Place entry and then AS allows you to select multiple Place fields in one go to p...

Re: Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
Hi Mike Sincere apologies, I have only just stumbled on your last question in this post. Here is the new laptop windows info for win 11. Re: Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
Yes - I did have the enable diagnostics option set before I found out it is unnecessary in normal use. So it was that causing the Windows Command screen to appear. Okay understood. Disabling Norton makes no difference. Norton 360 Deluxe was on both old and new laptops. Unfortunately - I don't have t...

Re: Census UK Tab - my take
Hi Neil - Thanks a better take on my version. One problem though, the 1921 Age field is not wide enough to support ages such as 53 yrs 10 mns . This maybe a font issue but I'm not sure. I have fixed this already if you are happy for me to post the updated UK CENSUS TAB in this thread or you can make...

Internet Data Matches (Findmypast)

Re: Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
Yes it does look to be arbitrary, different files selected on each run. The Keep New Backup Folder option doesn't make any difference. New files are thrown up after each new run regardless of using Keep New Backup Folder or Keep All New Files. If I click the X in the top right corner of the Warning ...

Re: Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
Hi Mike
I am not aware of any other applications working with those emf files. I had to enable the folder view before I could even see them.
I ran the Plug-In again now and it threw up another file as an issue. See attached. If I click Keep All New files the Plug-In completes.

Re: Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
Hi Mike I periodically run a Backup of settings using your Plug-In. I have tweaked a few things differently on this new laptop in the FH preferences and other minor changes such as customisations these being mostly cosmetic. I also run your Plug-In when I introduce a new Query or Plug-In as I did to...

Backup & Restore Settings Plug-In
@Mike Tate Mike can you please help me understand this warning message. The dates reported for the FH Settings Path appear to be ancient > 1970 and more confusing the New Backup Folder path date states 2019? This is a New Laptop and I did experience some issues installing FH7 so I'm a bit lost as to...

Re: How to add 1921 Census to list in 'Census UK' tab
Mike I'm guessing Mark is referring to how to Install the Custom Tab and set its position amongst the Tabs already in use.
That may not be obvious to some users.
