Re: Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

Hi Mike. Dates were from the last few days. One from only yesterday. But I don't think I used ORA yesterday. I'll pick this up tomorrow Mike. I have logged off now.

Many thanks.

Re: Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

One thing just came to mind. I use John Cardinals ORA product (Chrome version) to capture Source data from Ancestry and enter it into FH. I wonder if it is that product behind this. I'll make some tests tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Re: Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

Hi Mike. I use Chrome for FH (FMP) hints but that is all. I tried that just now and I couldn't see any change to the log. No new entries.

Re: Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

I copied a full capture of one of those errors and posted it into Google. The hits are high and a common problem with Chrome Browser which I use. Can't find a solution yet but why would Chrome place those errors into the FH7 Project Folder?

I'll carry on tomorrow.

Re: Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply. I skim read through that post, nothing jumping out at me just now. The solution looks to be a reinstall of windows due to some missing windows files. I'll hold back on that and read in detail all the comments and see if that throws something up.

Cheers

Re: Guilty of a significant Boo Boo and need Help

Hi Mike
Thank you for that, I'll give it try as a solution would be handy to have, in case I go off the rails again :D I have manually worked through the 1891 Census since posting this issue and it took me 3+ hours to reconcile. So it's not a back breaker just a hard lesson learned.

Debug Log causing problems with Backup in FH7

Evening All FH7 Can anyone please throw some light as to the entries in the attached FH7 log file (debug.zip)? I get an occasional error where the backup can’t continue because of this file or maybe the entries within it. I can of course answer Yes to ignore the message but I would like to know why ...

Re: Guilty of a significant Boo Boo and need Help

Good evening Nick and thanks for trying to help.

Unfortunately this is work spanning 3 weeks or so and other data was also changed along the way such as Places and Names were tweaked where I had improved upon previous conclusions.

So Last Updated isn't reliable any longer...

Guilty of a significant Boo Boo and need Help

Hi All I'm deeply embarrassed to report but... needs must. I wonder if someone could help me out with some guidance. I'm using FH7 and have started a Do-Over project as I wanted to make use of the new features, templates, etc. I have re-entered Census 1891 thru 1911 and because of bad transcriptions...

Hi Everyone - I have posted here as I can't seem to get two posts through via the Groups.IO route. I think they might be awaiting Moderator approval. Are Moderators available at this time?

Thank You

Re: Add GRO Source plugin

I think it is in the text for the Plug-In that you have to create 3 x Generic Sources and tag them when using the Plug-In.

Re: Removing Flags in Bulk

Hi Lorna. Thanks for the reply. I guess this means one flag at a time?
Is there a quick and dirty clear all method?

I have foolishly created quite a list of useless flags that I was intending to use as a surety indicator.

Removing Flags in Bulk

Evening All. Is there a quick way to remove in bulk a number of Flags from the database? A plugin maybe or some little known technique? I have a number of Flags I want to remove, some are actually in use, IE, attached to an Individual. Most are redundant and not used. I want to remove in bulk certai...

Re: Tools or Tips for Patterns in Research Data

Have you looked at using Family Tree Analyser? It takes a gedcom file and has a multitude of options to look at the data. It’s also FREE and well worth investing some time to play around with, the author is also very receptive to suggestions for enhancements and quick to implement them. He added a ...

Re: Tools or Tips for Patterns in Research Data

Thank you Mick, I can see how switching number and street details can assist with sorting and 'prompting' for further analysis. I will adopt that method going forward. @Mike, thanks Mike for the reply, I have recently reviewed how useful those features are and will make better use of these going for...

Re: Source / Citations for Alternate Names

Apologies for the late reply Adrian. Yes the example you quoted (married two or more times) is the reason why I raised the question. I'm trying a new approach to very strictly cite sources and names feature strongly in that new approach. Fortunately, I don't have that many instances of this, so not ...
