Re: Divorced 1886

I too have a divorce in my family tree, circa 1888/89. Quite sad really as the three daughters ended up in an orphanage. I too wondered about the cost and would be interested in any replies you might get.

Re: One Name Studies

Just wanted to let you all know I have made a start by importing a GEDCOM of the surname required, plus spouses, etc into a new FH project, thankfully not as huge as Roger's and using his Research Recommendations as a guide have been deleting media and sources that are no longer required. I am on my...

Re: One Name Studies

Many thanks, Mike. Have printed off Roger's 'Firth' web pages, which look interesting and have a look at the links you have given and go from there.
Thanks all for your help!!

One Name Studies

Not sure if this is the right place to discuss this but I have recently joined the Guild of One Name Studies and registered a surname. Am wondering if anyone on the forum uses Family Historian to record their study and how easy it is or if another software is used eg. Custodian or Clooz? If Family H...

Re: To Do List - Create Custom Tab

Hi Mike
Apologies for delay in getting back to you. Just opened up FH and lo and behold have a huge text box, etc on the To Do tab!! How weird is that!! Feel such a fraud now as cannot even send a screenshot to prove what was there.
Thanks for getting back to me.

To Do List - Create Custom Tab

I apologise as I see something similar was covered a short while ago but after downloading the 'To Do Fact list' and 'To Do Property Box Tab', for some reason do not have a text box underneath the 'New paragraph for each Task' for completion. All the details in the Customize Property Box window, etc...

Printed Census Media List

I would like to use Ancestral Sources to check all my census. I thought to use the filtered media window using the keyword 'census' , which gives me a list of what I need but is there a way to print the list off? I have looked at media queries in the book but cannot find anything.

Re: Free Findmypast and Family Historian Webinar

Bill If it's any consolation, I had exactly the same problem, a black screen!! I too use the browser Firefox and run on Windows 10. But the link to the webinar worked perfectly on my iPad!! After watching the webinar, I agree with Mike and Valkrider, it was not worth the hype. But would love to sort...

Re: Webinar

Hi jclifford I too had problems viewing the webinar for the same reasons but have since found I can view it on iPad, not ideal but better than nothing. Have been in touch with Find my Past and Microsoft but neither could resolve the problem. Have you found a solution? Would love to hear it if you ha...

Re: Free Findmypast and Family Historian Webinar

Hi Just wondering if I can pick someone's brain please, as I cannot even use the link to view the webinar. Have decided my computer is blocking the site saying the 'connection is not secure' and have not 'granted this site any special permissions', Event Console, that is. I am running on Firefox bro...

Re: Free Findmypast and Family Historian Webinar

Hi I missed the webinar. Don't know if I was doing anything wrong, but after using the link emailed, a summary page came up, then went to a black screen entitled 'Event Consol', and then nothing. I logged in about 5 minutes before. Even did the computer test and got the short video, so all was okay....

Re: Export GEDCOM file plugin

Hi Mike Thanks for a quick return. Have recently restarted my PC as had problems installing updated Ancestral Sources. Not sure about Windows 10 as an OS as having to restart most times when trying to instal, or even make a new folder. To answer your questions- Previous plugin ran fine, no problems....

Have a problem with the updated Export GEDCOM plugin in that when I hit run, it says 'running', and nothing happens other than a blank window appearing. Have deleted the plugin and re-installed but same problem occurs. Can you help please?

Thanks for that, Mike, but what about the keywords like audio and video, which are on the original list and have not been used? Will they eventually drop off?

Re: Can online services support FH research?

I'm a newbie to FH and find the Find My Past hints excellent and easy to download and save to relevant folders. I think it is a case of researching what records each of the websites have to offer. Most of them do 'pay as you go' if you find a record you might not have, or even take out a months subs...

Re: MobileFamilyTree7

Thank you Mervyn and Mike for your replies. I don't suppose there is anything in the pipeline by Family Historian to enter the mobile tree world? Enquiries would be nice if you could make them, please Mervyn. It would seem I am destined to have a a week free of updating my tree and should come back ...

MobileFamilyTree7

Thank you for the various posts regarding exporting to mobile trees previously. I have been reading up on MobileFamilyTree7 and to export seems straightforward but how well does it import back to Family Historian? Is there any missing evidence? Are all links to media kept?
