thanks Martin, yes I looked at Photo Mechanic but don't think it lets me search on keyword combinations - perhaps I'm wrong? Their new product Photo Mechanic Plus probably works but it's outside my price range.

Irfanview certainly has some helpful features and it supports searches for keywords. Thanks again for the suggestion. Looking at an Individual's window, I can see from the All tab what Sources are linked to that Individual.

How can I go the other way, eg. for a particular Source, see to what Individuals it's linked? Ditto from Notes, Repositories, Submitters, Media and Places?
