The only problem with adding them separately is that you have to have a label, which looks a bit silly on each line, esp with 15 children, so i think i'll leave the standard child entry as is for most, and just add in for those with more than 1 marriage / children.

Not sure I understand your last point. None of the field labels should be numbered - just use Spouse and Marriage as the labels, without numbers, and you will get an output similar to my screenshot above. Apologies, it's working now (i'd added it to the 'wrong' family group report ) I realise i need to add it to all the reports in the book, just chose the wrong example.

Thanks Mike, i have done the full backup of all my projects to laptop and usb this morning (various dates before), just reluctant to remove the others, not my own, without having tried a restore. I may never be asked to add further info to these other trees so i'll go ahead as suggested.
