Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, Did a test of v3.2.10, both LFT and TNG option. The results are as you predicted. 1)The attribute setting that before I had to set manually , now is the default. The LFT option I did set manually the Marriage Status_1Stat to Custom Fact, and those (only 11 marriages) were moved to STAT instead...

Re: Insert
Normally, if I merely entered the incorrect person, I just overwrite the focus window information with the right individual, or delete the person, then enter the correct person, and reenter the deleted person. If you don't wish to delete the grandmother and reenter her, you can right click, and unli...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
I have Legacy 9 as well (but use primarily Legacy 7 , speedier and graphics more to my liking) and yes, I had also confirmed the Custom Fact and Value works as well. Again, you're right (again  ).. I didn't adequately review the Label Options tab nor, (yes I needed it) the blanked Caption Note...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, All is good now with LFT . I should have compared ALL option settings for TNG to LFT before posting and bothering you. The ' remove repeated captions' ticked worked, as did setting the Extra Options tab Custom Attribute 1 _ATTR set to Custom Fact & Value. LFT accepted this: 1 EVEN ww2, field a...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, Export Gedcom 3.2.9 LFT option: I hadn't exported to LFT in awhile, but, unfortunately the duplicated caption link/notes are present there as well. Any chance the same TNG fix could be applied to LFT as well? Also, a another, lessor point, another difference in the LFT output: LFT : 1 EVEN 2 T...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
You are a true Wizard, Mike. Gave v3.2.9 a test and imported to TNG. Looks very good so far.
Thank you!
Update: did more extensive testing, and v3.2.9 (the fruit of the export, that is) is leaving TNG WAMPserver and going LIVE today.
Thanks again.
Ron

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Yes, that eliminates the repetition, I hope you can see why preserving the multi-line is important to me. Having this: front: Ann, Cheryl, Kathleen;middle: Patricia, Michelle;back: Adele, Mary Jo , doesn't stand out as well as this: front: Ann, Cheryl, Kathleen middle: Patricia, Michelle back: Adele...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, I will test a single line, but remember, the caption is only 2-lines for the photo; the rest are generated as local notes to each of the persons to whom the photo is assigned. I don't see how one line vs. two lines will effect the others, e.g., a 7 member family will have 2*7 lines or a 14 lin...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
There must be some logical explanation. I will double-check my claims. Can you double-check you are running Plugin V3.2.4 . It should say Export Gedcom File 3.2.4 at the top of its main window. It will also have a Label Options tab. In Tools > Plugins select the Plugin and check the Details Provide...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
OK...so I restored the correct dat file, and ran v3.2.4, and got this, which works in TNG in spite of the replication, because of the separate NOTE lines. 0 @O1510@ OBJE 1 FILE Media\photos\P195x Krzmarzick, jeromeB children7.jpg 2 TITL Jerome and Adele (Schroepfer) Krzmarzick children 2 FORM jpg 1 N...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
OK, Mike, don't rub it in. I use 'everything' , a Windows program to find all instances of a filename any part of a filename across all or any directories. I missed that one .dat file at the end of the list, size 19k. Will find the backup of it (from an image backup yesterday) and retry v3.2....

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, I thought the Export Gedcom settings were in the Export Gedcom.dat file, but the file contains almost nothing; return { -- Table: {1} { ["Balloon"]="YES", }, } Are the settings in a different file? In fact that's all any of the .dat files contain in C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\P...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
V3.2.2 exports Media NOTE/CONT similar to your 1st example, but V3.2.3 onward all export the 2nd example. Somehow I need to get back to the first example, and I know that I was outputting NOTE/CONT in v3.2.4, but cannot seem to get back to it. Without that effect, any media objects assigned to mult...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, Whew, I will try to sift thru your remarks/points, .. but.just trying to get to where I was before I tried v3.2.8. The NOTE/CONT was being output with repeated NOTE/CONT but I didn't notice since TNG only resulted in one instance (OK). When I setup v3.2.4 again, I was now getting the CONT/CONT...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Using the TNG option, upon closer inspection...it appears that 3.2.4 was already outputting the duplicate notes, but TNG was/is ignoring them so it went unnoticed. I shall try falling back to v3.2.3, which had resolved (I think) that issue for me. Will report back. Update: Apparently, in 3.2.4, TNG ...

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike,
Have been using FILE~REL, with TNG. Getting so many conflicting 'conflicting place names' popups with 3.2.4 that will have to kill the plugin I think.

Re: Export Gedcom File with Full v Brief option
Mike, Perhaps should have left well enough alone. I put 3.2.8 in place, ran it, and did a full file compare to 3.2.4 and found many duplicate local Notes similar to what I think was experienced before 3.2.4. I then reran 3.2.4, and it runs extremely slow so I suspended it. It changed my 3.2.4 settin...

Mike,
Assuming you meant either Ron, will give it a test and compare outputs to make sure all is unchanged (in my case).

Mike,
Came upon this thread while browsing. Should I be even concerned with v3.2.7, or wait for v3.3 if using currently using FILE~REL with v3.2.4?

Re: Export Gedcom File new features
For my usage, Export Gedcom 3.2.4 is ready to become 3.3! Great job. All worked as it should, both LFT and TNG, including passing along the PLAC geocoding.
And the freeze; amazing you found that bug. And yes, the 3.2.4 version fixed the errant .dat file as well.

Re: Export GEDcom plugin -- some questions
Mike,
Great. Will give it a test for any impact on functionality I use. Of course, as to the freezing/hidden window issue, you know how hard it can be to make something break when you want it to.
Thanks for letting me know.

Re: Using Map Life Facts Plugin
The plotting with Map Life Facts Plugin completed today. While satisfied with much better results, and will use this geocoding in FH , I will continue to use TNG's geocode plotting for the website at this time. The reason is that TNG was even able to plot those in which a valid city and/or state was...

Re: Using Map Life Facts Plugin
Thanks...will not worry about those with such a status of 'blocked'. For some reason, my last post vanished (twice). Third time's a charm they say....not surprisingly I reached the quota exceeded after reaching 'N' in the apparent alphabetic progression (per the place listing ) of the geocoding with...
