Shared Sentence structure
I thought I had the following sentence structure for a shared fact working but it appears not to be. {individual} appeared < in the {date:YEAR} census> as head of household < in {role=Head of Household}'s household> <at {address}> < {place}> <with wife {role=Wife}> . The census was enumerated {date}...

Re: Updated maps in Version7?
This is perhaps a little off topic but I have been looking for a mapping tool for genealogy for some time. I have found one that not only will map locations but I can put in non genealogical data so I can map out a possible route from one place to another. The problem is that the underlying maps are...

FH has the best charting capability of any software product I have encountered. When creating a website of my genealogy is there any way to include that capability into my website?

Re: How Can I 'Flag' Something That I Can Easily See in Focus View?
Mike,' I have accomplished all you have said. There were two flags set by FH being Living and Private. When I added mine they appeared on a second line. There is quite a bit of screen real estate to the right of the Living and Private flags. Can I get my flags to be on the same line as the Living an...

English sources
I have been concentrating on my American ancestors that mostly emigrated between 1620 and 1660. Now I want to begin my research on my English ancestors and I am not finding much yet. Because of the time period being prior to 1660 most of my sources don't have much. Ancestry has very little from prio...

Re: fact display
Mike Thanks for your response. I have done some research pulling apart the various gedcom files and the FH project file and I see exactly what you are saying. I will need to structure my input to at least be consistent so that FH predictably makes even or _attr facts. Are there any FH downsides to h...

Re: fact display
Lorna, Thank you. I have been working with my gedcom file and all these facts are exported from Rootsmagic as Even facts. Some are exported with an Even descriptor which gedcom 5.5.1 seems to contradict itself on based on an article by Tamura Jones. Does the : reflect the fact that FH has imported a...

I have been working on trying to get all my data from Rootsmagic into an FH project. This process has not been easy and I have tried several workarounds to get the job done. It seems that most custom facts and their related sentence structure do not migrate well so I have tried creating duplicate fa...

Mike that worked perfectly.
Windows key + Shift + S lets me highlight what I want to cut and then I can paste it to where ever.
Thank you for the suggestion

Cut part of FH screen image
This topic has probably been addressed before but I did not find any reference in the help or this forum. When I have an issue that I would like to post to this forum it would be nice if I could cut/copy a portion of the FH screen to use to illustrate my problem. I am using FH v 6.2.7 and windows 10...

Re: Diagram Box Size
Thanks Mike, I just tried that by saving a custom diagram type from one project and basically selecting that diagram type via the view option from a new project and it all worked well. With this I can create several custom diagram types that I want as standard ways to display a chart and can easily ...

Re: Diagram Box Size
Mike,
Is there a way to save my selected options not as a defaults or a particular chart but as a general set of options that I may want to use later?
I can see times where I may want the option of quickly selecting various options depending on what task I am performing or for whom.

Re: Change how and where a FACTYPE will appear.
redvanman - I looked at your link and I was able to create an exclude list which included just the fact that I wanted to have ignored. This worked out well. I can easily alter the list at any time to exclude others or revert to the original settings. Mike - I tried your suggestion and it worked but ...

Change how and where a FACTYPE will appear.
In several other applications I was able to take a fact type and easily make it appear or disappear in various outputs. TMG and Rootsmagic both have that capability. Is there any such capability in FH? I have created a custom fact that is only used with charts and I don't want it to be used in narra...

Re: Medical history in a chart
Mike,
Thank you.
I tried both methods and both worked. I will probably stay with the more complex statement since it makes the conditions under boxes easier to read.
FH continues to show it is the more robust of genealogical software packages.

Medical history in a chart
First what I want is to be able to track genetic medical history by changing the characteristics of a box based on a keywords in the note field. I am able to do this by editing the chart options and select boxes and add the following condition statements: =ContainsText(%INDI.EVEN-MEDHIST.NOTE2%,"Can...

Thank you that worked. I don't think I selected Census-2 but I reset everything and I was able to find the census data in FH. Like you said it was buried somewhat but all is well now.

Detailed Census Data
I am relatively new at FH and very new trying to use AS. I used AS to enter a census record and I entered all the data in every column on the 1920 and 1930 census. I used auto to have that data entered into the text field for the census, I then saved it and FH and AS were aware that the other had ma...

set flag based on fact
I am trying to create a chart that will show all the people who have a genetically transferred disease. Re: Importing from Rootsmagic
I probably put too much in my original question. It was not about either the EVEN tag or the importing errors. The question was once FH imports my data what can I do about the sentence that is generated? With a fact type I would edit the sentence structure in that fact type. What are the possibiliti...
