Remove place
How can I remove a place from the Place Records and all other locations in FH v6.2.2 files? Over1400 places (not real places but incorrectly recorded as a place), verified to be without links , require removal. Mass removal, based on all places without links , would be the best solution but individu...

Re: Correct Place Descriptions
Mike - thanks for the tutorial. I have, and do, understood all the differences but I may not have been correct or made the correct reference to different items. Sadly, even my succinctly stated conclusion in my last response was not even sufficient : "In conclusion I cannot find a way to edit a Plac...

Re: Correct Place Descriptions
I prefer not to enter a "war of words" but maybe the comments should refrain from personal "gotchas". Nothing wrong if asking "did you notice" or "sometimes overlooked" or simply "in that field "rather than some of the recent comments :) (1) Re me not seeing the Place Record heading Note . Please kn...

Re: Correct Place Descriptions
I appreciate all the help attempts but I believe they do not help solve this problem because: (1) The apparently preferred process using Place Records does not allow deletion of the Place text should that be required when moving all the Place text to the Place Note . Even so, when only a portion of ...

Re: Correct Place Descriptions
I have tried to Edit the Text field but there is no option to edit the Note field associated with that specific Place. In matter of fact NO note fields for any locations are exhibited in Place Records although I have many, e.g. a Place Link with a note including the cemetery for Place of death when ...

Correct Place Descriptions
Is there a Plugin to move all, or portions, of the descriptive text from Place to Description for all same problem tags? E.g., I have a Place error with the Place Records Text equal "?" I want to move the "?" to the Note section. I can do this manually but this in in 10 Links. A Plugin to change th...

Re: Win 7 to Win 10 plug-in question
There was never a problem with the Project Location - just that the Plug-in option to redefine it was not obvious - The Option tab was required to be opened to change the location and as you noted you would review to clarify the process in the future. I was confused when you said " so it only needs ...

Re: Win 7 to Win 10 plug-in question
Mike, as detailed initially, I ran the plugin on Win7 prior to removing Win7 and then ran the plugin after a clean install of Win10. I did not upgrade Win7 to Win 10 by 'overwriting' the existing Win7. And, as we previously discussed, the path for the default backup and files was modified originally...

Re: Win 7 to Win 10 plug-in question
Hi Mike, I finished the Win1 upgrade to Win10 conversion of FH - I think! I notice that FH projects may not be the same re Plug Ins I previously downloaded and executed. There may be changes in Facts Sets and modified codes. The default opening project is missing. I have not had time to more thorou...

Re: Win 7 to Win 10 plug-in question
Thanks Mike.
The key was "Plugin needs its Options tab Backup folder to be reset to D:\\FH v6\Backups". I did not realize that was where to change the backup location which was so located in Win7.
Thanks again

Re-instll FH v6.2
I have no choice in upgrading from WIN 7 to WIN 10 but by reformatting Drive C which contains and will contain the FH v6.2 program. I will follow the Migration Guide except for when applying steps for WIN 10 I will retain the Family Historian Projects folder and all data (GED) files in Drive D which...

Re: FTM to FH6 date format corrections
I apologize for the late response. For some reason I did not get an email notice of your response. I just was double checking today when I found this. I kept busy making some simple FH Fine and Replace efforts and made a WEB page to see the value. After more than 60 hours of FTP effort over a 100mb ...

The attached Family Group Sheet (for Web, CD or DVD).rtf is a Family Group Sheet saved in rtf format that cannot be fully appended as normally in an rtf file. Individual Narrative Report saved to rtf
The attached Individual Narrative.rtf shows an unwanted blank 1st page, the subject's children text in unwanted italics, and that text along with the following sources all in unwanted "cells". Does FH incorrectly format the rtf file for an Individual Narrative Report and if so, is there a way to pro...

Re: FTM to FH6 date format corrections

The more I learn the more frustrated I become. So.....for now I hope to depend on your knowledgeable advice...

Re: FTM to FH6 date format corrections
FH is not very intuitive and the introduction and help information is very difficult to interpret for just a "user" - but I am trying having read a fair amount of what you mentioned but, the problem is that rather being instructed how to do something the help is how it results or the end result. And...

Re: FTM to FH6 date format corrections
I reviewed the Dates help topics and understand the formats but do not understand the options - if there are any extensive default options. Re: FH6 GEDCOM CONC lines not processed in FH6 application
I solved all the UDF problems in my Incomplete database. The 'delete' function you recommended "In the Named List select the * ADOP or * CONC UDF tag and hit the Delete key on your keyboard" did not work for me - or by selecting the "X" ("Cut") keyboard key. However, I was able to delete the tags in...
