Alternatives to linking lines for duplicates on charts
I am a regular user of Family Historian and often use charts. I understand the duplicate button and how to avoid the coloured looping link lines that appear where eg cousins married and you have duplicate lines in the family tree. Is there a different way, however, of having the chart indicate that ...

Re: Blank section in narrative report
Problem resolved, thank you to everyone. On close inspection there just seemed to be lots of pages of blank report at the end of the notes of one individual, then the report carried on straight from there at the end, with just the big gap in the middle. Checking the notes for that individual I spott...

Re: Blank section in narrative report
Well that was until I ticked the box to include "record notes", then exactly the same thing happened as before. Any bright ideas? Clearly something to do with adding in the notes ...

[RESOLVED] Blank section in narrative report
I have upgraded to Family Historian 7. I am a regular user and have encountered no difficulties so far, but this morning I was trying, on a particular project, to publish a narrative ancestor report, only to encounter about 73 pages of blank report (apart from the header) - the first couple of gener...

Re: Blank Baptism Entries on Diagrams
Wonderful, problem solved thank you. In future I will remember to delete the fact itself as well when removing information from the date and place field.

Blank Baptism Entries on Diagrams
I have a problem where occasionally seemingly random people come up with a blank baptism entry on a family tree diagram when there is no information in the baptism field on the program, and no source for baptism either. I do not have the field set to show even when blank, and it only happens on some...

Re: Pedigree Charts
Thank you for that reply. Yes, I had worked out that I could do it manually by making a series of pedigree charts from each ancestor on the end of a 4 generation line, but when you have a very large family tree to do that is extremely time consuming. I take it from your reply that there is no way to...

Pedigree Charts
I would like to print out a summary of my family tree in pedigree chart format on standard A4 paper, each page showing say 4 generations, and then for each ancestor on the far right (ie furthest back) on the chart a reference to the chart on which that generation continues. I have been able to do th...

Hi Lorna,
Thank you so much - plugin installed, used without any problem and no longer any christening/baptism issues.

Christenings to Baptisms
I am running Family Historian 6 having imported my files from Legacy some months ago and added to them since. I have a family file of several thousand people, and have recently realised that I have a number of 'christenings' and a number of 'baptisms'. Is there any way I can merge the two and have t...

Re: Editing Sources
Thanks, I have now found the view - record lists - sources link and from there onto the edit - merge etc. Perhaps obvious, but not until someone points it out!

Editing Sources
I have a very mixed selection of sources, some from imports and some which I have created. Ideally I would like to merge some sources with other sources (eg 1861 England census with 1861 UK census) and delete some sources altogether. Is this possible and if so, how do I do it?
