Re: Expression in diagrams
Mike, the only place where > is shown, is when it described as a "link indicator", and forms part of a chain, where > is indicating the next link in the chain, like %INDI.FAMC>HUSB>NAME[2]% which makes perfect sense. But that doesn't explain why > is at the end of the expression, when there is nothi...

Expression in diagrams
From the KB, I know that the expression =IsAncestorOf( %INDI%, Field( FileRoot(), 'INDI.~FATH>' ) ) returns all paternal ancestors Q1. I can see how Field( FileRoot(), 'INDI.~FATH' refers to the Root's father, but not why it ends with > , when there is no matching < Q2. How can this expression be al...

Re: Error setting size of Icons in diagrams
I noticed, but he followed it by suggesting you could enter 50 dpi as they are only 6 digits! I was merely pointing out that regardless of number of numerical digits, entering dpi was not needed at all
I could suggest the dpi text could be left outside the box, as a label for the box!

Re: Error setting size of Icons in diagrams
Alternatively, delete dpi and just enter the digits 123 which immediately changes to 123 dpi. Small values such as 50 dpi or 99 dpi are OK as they only need six characters FWIW, you don't need to enter dpi at all, simply enter the digits. i.e I entered 50, which was accepted. (FH adds the dpi text ...

Error setting size of Icons in diagrams
I thought I'd have a try at placing icons for individuals in a diagram, to indicate whether they had a specific census or not. It worked well when I set all the icon sizes to 200dpi. 200 DPI.jpg this resulted in:- All at 200 dpi.jpg - fine! As the icons were not quite large enough, I tried changing ...

Re: Customise main application toolbar
Thank you!!! can't understand the logic of removing, as standard, something so useful. Believe it are not, there are those of us who rarely if ever use diagrams and don't find this option useful at all! You and me both  personally I find diagrams give me such a very small view of my tree that ...

Glenn,
FWIW, change all 27 Smith Street, to Smith Street, 27. That way, all Smith Streets will be listed together rather than all Houses numbered 27!
Much easier to find neighbours that way

Resizing Citation Pane not sticking
I have arranged my window so that Citation edit pane is always visible below the property box, so it is not very tall. So that I can see the field I want, I drag the separator, to make top half larger. Citation Screen 2.jpg This results in my preferred size, with Author field fully visible Citation ...

Re: 1921 census
Never mind the fact that whoever transcribed them must have done it in a rush as some don't match. I would never trust the transcription unless I have no other choice. In my experience, I haven't had too much trouble with the details you are talking about, but the transcription of names, places and...

What 3 sheets? I only see 2, the initial page showing the family then the actual document the 1st page was transcribed from. I can't understand how they've got different numbers on the original and the transcription? Never mind the fact that whoever transcribed them must have done it in a rush as s...

Re: 1921 census
If you're refering to the images, you need to see /downlaod all three! 1. Actual schedule, with details of people (Schedule Number shown Top Right as per 1911) 2 Associated Address sheet, to get Address as well as RD, SD & ED references (Similar to 1911 address sheet) 3. Cover sheet to get RG15 & Pi...

Re: Save Diagram As Custom Dialogue
Lorna,
I blame CP, who seem to interchange the terms diagrams and charts willy nilly.
Whatever it is I am saving, I’d like to see a list of previously saved items, as you succinctly put in your second paragraph

Re: Save Diagram As Custom Dialogue
Mike, you can see what Saved Charts exists via Charts > Saved Charts without having to resort to File Explorer. I am aware of that, but it would be nice to see that list of existing charts, whilst saving a new one, without having to go to another window/menu option, or having to resort to making no...

Re: Save Diagram As Custom Dialogue
Thank you for reporting that. We did some tests and what you describe is not exactly what we found. In our tests if you open a custom diagram and save changes to it, using "Save as Custom Diagram", the name of the custom diagram will display by default and you will not get any warning if you click ...

Re: Saving Marker Sets
I agree, it seems pointless to be able to create marker sets, then not have the ability to save these new creations. To restrict the newly created marker sets to the current session is pointless. Presumably these marker sets are stored somewhere to be able to use them during the session, so why not ...

Re: Saving marker sets for maps
Erik, I just had a play creating a new marker set, but as soon as I closed the map window, it disappeared. I was hoping that by creating a marker set, it would become available next time I opened a map, but sadly it is not the case. So the quick answer to your question is No Perhaps something for th...

Re: Last Updated - question
Davidf, Whilst I don’t disagree with what you are saying, adding a child does not involve adding a fact to an individual per se, and is not listed as a fact for the mother or father in their facts Tab whereas one does add a ‘marriage’ fact to the individuals concerned. Perhaps this is why they are g...

Re: Query to get just one line back
So the individual would have a duplicate set of Ahnentafel numbers. Lorna, this could still occur if one of my fathers ancestors married one of my mothers ancestors, merging the two lines. I wonder which one should take precedence  That's a different scenario. In that case some of your ancesto...
