Re: Witness Selection
I restarted my computer, reopened the project, and tried again to add a witness. This time, I clicked on every header in turn (which are, for the most part, derived from expressions) and on just one, it sorted. Then all the others would sort as required. No rhyme nor reason but it is working!

Witness Selection
My records window is sorted in Updated order and remains so when I close and then reopen the application, but when I go to add a Witness, the Select Records list is in default order of ID number order and clicking on the headers has no effect. Right clicking and changing the sort order also has no e...

Workspaces - Window sizes etc
I am finding that the records window and the diagrams window share the same size settings - if I reduce the size of one then the other is also reduced to the same. I cannot put either onto another monitor, is there a setting I am missing?

Is there a way to add a box (boxes) to be able to choose the additional assessment options now available in FH7, without having to click the More Options choice? Re: Add Witness from Record Window
Sorry Mike - to clarify I had to click the Individuals Record column heading and sort, before clicking on another column heading (eg Updated) in order to sort in the Select Records dialog box. If I clicked on any heading other than the Individuals Record column first, it wouldn't sort.

Add Witness from Record Window
When I add a witness, by default the Record window used to be on the individual for whom I am adding witnesses, which allowed easy and quick selection of family members. Now, the Records window is on RecordID sort order which makes it more long winded to locate the individuals in question, and I can...

Estimated Alive Query at - with extra parameters
I would like to amend the existing standard query to show all those with a defined name (surname and/or first name) are likely to have been alive in a certain year. This is mainly for individuals with only baptism or burial dates. eg I want to know which individuals named John Snell are likely to ha...

Thank you for this dicussion - I too use Witness Notes extensively and while I don't often print, I do value the sentences appearing in the Property Window when the Witnessed fact is selected. As the discussion started with Wills, you may be interested to know that I have also created a custom Wills...

For the main couple or individual in the focus window: is there a way to customise the abbreviations for Baptized and Buried? Currently they are showing Bapt'd and Buried. Re: Newspapers fact
I too have a Newspaper fact and have made a sentence: {individual} is mentioned in the newspaper {date} {place} : {note}. The Note field I use for a summary eg Failure to pay rates, and I put the full text of the article in the source text. I've found that it (so far) has covered all instances.

Thanks Mike. I have customised my sentences to remove the name of he/she aspect because I feel that those are redundant aspects so I guess I have shot myself in the foot so to speak. Any suggestions as to a work around?

screen1.JPG screen2.JPG In the first picture it would be good if I could make the (un)marriage fact go onto the next line for clarity. You can also see the list of the first 10 children.
