Re: Apps for Android
After trying Gedstar which I used back in my Palm Pilot days, I've followed Jane and installed GEDexplorer. However I'm struggling to get the app to display the media files I'VE copiedmy files to my SD card in a Directory called Family Historian. Within that directory the media files are in a subfol...

Re: Apps for Android
I'd love an app that could view the Family Historian Gedcom directly and make notes for review and entering later into the program on my desktop. The ability to actually edit the data would be even better. Currently I view my tree using either Ancestry or TreeView but having to convert and upload th...

Removing Redundant Places
I’ve been cleaning up my data, moving things like church names and house names to the addresses fields, but I’m left with many places on the place list which are no longer used. Is there any simple way of removing these redundant places?
Many thanks

Re: Removing pre 1837 births when baptism details known
Thank you all for your replies. I've been away for a few days and will certainly consider my options. I've been with Family Historian now for a few years since The Master Genealogist stopped being updated and love the programme. I now realise that this issue has come about because I used the TMG fac...

Removing pre 1837 births when baptism details known
I'm cleaning up my data, and wondered whether there's any simple way of removing estimated births for individuals where these fall before 1837, ie before UK civil registration started where I know the details of their baptismal records. I do have a few baptisms where the individuals were not childre...

Problems with opening projects
In the confusion over migrating files back from OneDrive, Family Historian no longer recognises where I have stored my local files on the hard drive. I have a default file setting of "Documents/Family Historian Proects/" in my Documents library, but rescanning this folder isnt giving my projects lis...

Re: Property Box - Occupation
I'm also having problems with this - is it possible to tell me how to customize the main tab on the Individual Details window to show either a preferred occupation or the last occupation recorded as I can't quite work it out by myself at the present?
Many thanks

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
I think that found it. In my enthusiasm to link all media, I'd made a link to a 300Mb .avi file of my parents' wedding. Removing this file and the plug-in worked with the default settings.
Many thanks for your help

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
Hi Mike Thank you for all your help, with regards to your questions, my answers are as below (I hadn't used the plug-in before trying it for this) By default settings do you mean (Std) Standard GEDCOM 5.5 with (PART~LMO) Part Frames via Local Media Objects? Yes If you choose (FILE~REL) or (WIPE~ALL)...

Re: Export Fact Definitions to GEDCOM
Hi Mike and John I get an error with the new version of the plugin when I try to run it, with both the default settings and Gedsite settings opening in a new box saying "Not Enough Memory" Is there anything I should be doing differently? I'm hoping to use this to build a website using Gedsite, but j...
