Thnk you so much for your replies to this query, pointing me in the right direction.
I'd agree that it would be very useful to have a list of plugins not in the store too
Many thanks
Andrew

Is there any way to get a list of 'Name Only' witnesses please?
When I first started to use Family Historian, I added "name only" witnesses to marriage certificates and grants of probate etc. for people who I did not know anything else about ie they were not obviously relatives of the prinicpals involved. As time has gone on, I've discovered that many of these w...

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.6
Hi Nick Thank you again for all your hard work Just installed and trying version 7.5.6 to update censuses to rich text notes and have noticed the following - my first census that needed updating was in Scotland, so the note header was Census Scotland 1841, however the next was in England, and the rt...

Re: Query for individuals with initials and missing full names
Thanks again Mike, Just checking for the middle initials is throwing up additional record matches on Ancestry and Find My Past which are showing additional marriages that are clearly right for my family tree that I was unaware of. Some of this work is showing up individuals I had previously recorded...

Query for individuals with initials and missing full names
Sorry for such a basic query question, but I'm trying to clean up my database by creating a list of individuals who are missing their full name and for whom I only have their initials, so people like Harry S. Truman or J. K. Rowling for example. For some of them I've entered the initials followed by...

Re: 1921 UK census - how to reference a schedule from its Findmypast image?
Hi Having downloaded some images and one transcription, I'd confirm that the schedule number is the number in the top right hand box of the image. The Piece number is the second section of the file name. I must admit to wanting to do the transcriptions myself, the one that I downloaded to check had ...

Has anyone written a template for AS for 1921 Census England and Wales yet
Just a quick question, has anyone written a template for the 1921 England and Wales Census that is being released on Thursday yet? I know a previous question asked whether there was one, and got the answer that it should be easy enough to do, but rather than go ahead and do this having not written a...

Re: Recorded sex
The NHS use non-continuous records for anyone who has undergone gender reassignment, ie they have a new medical record, new NHS number too go with their new identity. The new record cannot refer to the past identity or the fact that someone has gone gender reassignment.

Possible Source Driven Data entry bug for Baptism
I'm using version 7.0.8.2 and have been entering baptisms using the Source, Create Source from template/prepare citation option from the toolbar. Creating a source, I'm then used the Church Records, Parish Register Baptism, then entered the data and completed the fields in the Data Entry Asssistant ...

Re: Death Certificate - Cause of Death - 3 days means?
Although it's been a little time since I wrote one can confirm that it's the duration of the illness. This information is still provided on the Death Certication given to register the death, but it's not usually recorded on the death certificate issued by the registrar nowadays.

Re: Setting Birth or Baptism as primary
I'm sorry for any confusion or offence, but my point was more that adding an estimated date of birth where the evidence for that estimate came from the baptism details was not really adding what was evidenced by the source citation, which would usually be date/place of baptism and name as a minimum....

Re: Setting Birth or Baptism as primary
Absolutely no offence taken, but I quite liked the use of a definite baptism date in reports where I was never going to be able to find an exact birth date. I found this most useful in charts such as pedigree and drop down charts. For most of the estimated dates, the information would have originall...

Setting Birth or Baptism as primary
Although it was a long time ago that I migrated from The Master Genealogist, there was a feature to set different facts as the Primary fact for that group. For example for the Birth fact group, you could select the Birth or baptism fact as primary, so that it was used for reports. This was useful fo...

May also be worth checking the General Record Office birth indexes on their website and entering just the father's surname and mother's maiden surname to see if you can identify likely missing candidates - unfortunately you can only search for males and females separately and have a limit of 2 years...

Hi Jane,
I'd navigated to the gedcom file through the second option, "other files" as it mentioned files stored on a memory card. Doing it again through the "local files" option and everything works fine!
Thanks for helping me find the solution
