Re: How Related Diagram
Hi Lorna, I create 2 diagrams for this case, each displaying the appropriate relationships. It is important to me to be very clear because I am using these (together with other people) for DNA research. The distance of relationships is important. But, of course, everybody has their own needs and tha...

Re: How Related Diagram
Hi, I am related to this person via 2 separate relationships. When I select the second option (4th parameter = 2) then most of the boxes in the diagram do not display the relationship. The relationship is displayed in only 3 boxes -- those of my cousin (the person I'm related to) and her parents. I ...

How Related Diagram
I am related to a person in my database via 2 different sets of common ancestors. One of the relationships puts us as 3rd cousins twice removed and the other as 4th cousins twice removed. I am using a text scheme which includes 'Related to the File Root' in order to generate text for the relationshi...

Re: FindMyPast - England & Wales, Electoral Registers 1832-1932
Hi Mike,
I guess I wasn't very clear. Of course, I know how to set up a source.
I was looking for Lorna's answer.
I was wondering how to format the source itself (title, etc).

Re: Individual Summary Report - Showing Sources for Birth Witnesses
Mike,
Yes, I have the idea now.
It's a bit clumsy -- the citations won't appear in the list of sources -- but they WILL appear, and that's what's really important to me.
Thank you.
Shosh

Individual Summary Report - Showing Sources for Birth Witnesses
I am using 'father' and 'mother' witnesses on birth events and attaching sources so I know where I got the information.
I can't figure out how to display my sources for 'father' and 'mother' in the 'Individual Summary Report.'
Thanks,
Shoshana

Customize Data Entry - 2 Projects
I am working on two projects, one for my ancestry and one for my husband's ancestry.
For each project, I would like a different configuration of the 'Main' tab of the properties box. Any ideas on how I might accomplish this?
Thanks,
Shoshana Kalson

Lorna,
In order to use them, they need to be in my project. As far as I know, a plugin can't reference objects in another GEDCOM.

Re: Export Object to GEDCOM
Mike, Your suggestion would definitely work and, as you say, would simplify distribution of the templates. It's also quite easy to implement. However, I am somewhat concerned that the plugin could grow to be quite long. I'm concerned that I'm going to suffer a performance hit. The template in the ex...

Re: Export Object to GEDCOM
Mike, Here is an example of a template, for processing a record for the SSDI found on Ancestry. This is what is currently stored in Evernote. Title: "U.S., Social Security Death Index," database, "Ancestry" (http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=3693), citing citing U.S. Social Security Adm...

Re: Export Object to GEDCOM
Mike, You've given me a direction for thought... The templates could actually be stored in the plugin data directory, I suppose. I chose the store them as "master sources," since that seemed the easiest way to deliver them, but there's no reason that they couldn't be stored as individual files. Inst...

You really seem to be against the idea of exporting a single object to GEDCOM.
Why? Do you foresee some kind of problem?

Re: Export Object to GEDCOM
Mike, I guess I'm not being too clear. I want to export a single source (or just a few) so that it (they) can be shared in other project(s). Export Object to GEDCOM
Hi all,
I would like to be able to export a single object -- source, media, or place -- to GEDCOM so that I can copy it to another FH database.
Writing a plugin to do this is pretty simple, but I thought I'd check first to see if there's another way to do it before I invest the time.

Accessing source by name instead of number
Hi All, I have cited, for the purpose of this example, the Social Security Death Index for the death fact of a number of people. In my citation, I copy the information from the index; each line is labeled. I want to build a query which displays this information in a tabular format. After I get this ...
