Mike,
Thanks for the ideas, which I think I will adopt.
Also for proof-reading!

Re: Occupation fact interpreted inconsistently (TMG import)
Mike, Once again, thank you. Your option 1 to "replace {note} with {value} in the Sentence Template" worked with immediate effect, as far as I can tell, but more checking will confirm. My use of the Occupation fact, that is, having one per person, may be "a little unorthodox" but in my view produces...

Occupation fact interpreted inconsistently (TMG import)
I have only just noticed that a proportion, it seems perhaps a quarter or a third, of my many hundreds of occupation facts are not being interpreted properly in FH. This was originally a direct import from TMG (not a GEDCOM) but I don't think this is the problem. They all came over into the Standard...

Re: Current age display
The first thing I notice is that Emma has two "facts" about her birth, one is a definite date, presumably from "personal knowledge" of the researcher or a copy birth certificate, the other appears to be from the GRO Births Index and gives only the Year/Quarter. Perhaps FH is looking at the latter an...

Re: Import TMG V7 to FH V6 project failure
As a long-time TMG user who has nearly but not quite committed to FH, I will say that FH's import is by far the best available as far as I am aware. I have compared it with Legacy and RootsMagic, and a number of lesser products, and FH is streets ahead of the rest. The import has some shortcomings, ...

Re: Map Life Facts 3.7 error
I'll let you know if anything amiss arises over the next few days, but I'm not expecting it after my successful use last night (apart from exceeding the daily quota). As for reviewing my place data in the light of Knowledge Base > Places and Addresses and Forum Posts, I have devoted many happy hours...

Re: Map Life Facts 3.7 error
Mike, Map Life Facts Plugin V3.7.3 seems to work perfectly. I ran it late last night and it sailed through ... until it reached the "Daily Quota". So I have 1855 records "Defined" and 1282 with "No Data". I will wait patiently for my new quota to be avilable, and try to complete, but all looks well....

Re: Map Life Facts 3.7 error
Mike, Thank you for your assistance. Yes, MLF stopped seconds after clicking Geocode Plot All Locations. I ran MLF last night after a "tidying" session with my Places List (via Tools/Work With Data/Places), and I carried on with that after my MLF problems. I have now used your new version 3.7.2 and ...

Map Life Facts 3.7 error
Today I have run the Map Life Facts (v3.7) plugin for the first time on a Project directly imported from TMG. It stops every time after a few seconds, at 1%, with the error message as per the attached. I use "Places" not "Addresses" for holding place details. I have followed tatewise's advice on set...

Re: Merging 2 trees
I am so sorry to have come to this thread so late in the day (so many messages in so short a time!), and I guess mrsangry is not so angry any more. But for the possible benefit of others who may read all this later, a question to have clarified was whether she had 2 datasets (in one TMG project) or ...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Mike, It works! And on the whole it appears to work very well. As you say, in TMG I was working with a lot of roles, although I suspect a lot less than many TMG users. I have noticed that a few of these have not translated well using this plugin. For example, my great great grandfather Thomas Brown ...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
FH Witnesses.png You're right, there are a lot. This time the long list is topped and tailed (top and bottom of window both off screen). But I hit Enter and get an error message, a new one this time. I have copied this part of the screen and attached it (I hope) as "FH Witnesses.png". I guess you w...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Version 0.2 is certainly better, but not quite there yet. It runs, and produces the "Finished finding Fact Witness Roles" window, as you say. However, I can't click OK, because the popup window lists so many entries it disappears off the bottom of the screen (and its a large monitor!), and your OK b...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Mike,
Yes, I am running FH version 6.0.4.
Yes, seems OK with Sample Project.
Have downloaded plugin again, and re-installed.
But same problem on my project (imported from TMG).
???

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Mike, Re: Give Witnesses Their Own Facts.fh_lua 0.1 Download is fine and installation appears to be fine. But on running the plugin there is an immediate error message ("Family Historian has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution..."). Have tried several times all with the same result. ...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Mike, This prototype plugin sounds like it will save me - and no doubt other users - a huge amount of time in achieving a single census approach combining "old" TMG and "new" FH census events. Not copying Ages is something I can live with, or rather, work around. I understand what you say about Fami...

Re: Witnesses when entering Census data
Like mitcheip, I have hundreds (1000+) of censuses created in TMG using witnesses, a method I like, despite its drawbacks, but am ready to forego. Moreover I can already see that Ancestral Sources is a great tool to assist in census and other data entry, for which I will be using Method 1. My query ...
