I wish to establish a "Deportation" fact which offers the "to" field, similar to the emigration fact. The sentence template would be something like "{individual} was deported from {_place} to {_place2} {date}<. {note}>"
Any suggestions wd be welcome.

Re: conditional sentences using witness roles?
How about something like this (schematically — I haven't thought out the spacing , value, date, etc)
{place} was sold {date}; <{role=seller} was the seller><; {role=buyer} was the buyer>
{place} was sold {date}; <{role=seller} was the seller><; {role=buyer} was the buyer>

Re: Need orginal record entry dates
Dear Mike, Thank you. It was in fact the FH7 Record IDs which eased the problem. I was able to cross-check them with my RM7 ID numbers. I've abandoned RM7 in favor of Family Historian, mostly because I found the developing RM8 uncongenial. The cousin I mentioned doesn't care for RM8 either, but is s...

Re: Need orginal record entry dates
Thank you for the suggestion. I should have specified in my original post that the problem is retrospective rather than prospective: the people I wish to identify had already been entered into FH7 over the last forty-five days. A cousin has asked me for a GEDCOM for those people. There are only twen...

Re: Need orginal record entry dates
Thank you, Mark. I feared that was the case. Fortunately, the last edited date will identify most of the people in whom I'm interested.

Need orginal record entry dates
Is there a query or plug-in which will enable me to see when individuals were first added to FH7? The last edited date isn't quite what I need.
Thanks!
Thanks!

How would one translate a Dutch date, given as "um 1782" into English?

Search & replace paragraph marks
I wish to search and replace text in the notes field, including the paragraph or end-of-line marker at the end of the text. How does one indicate the paragraph marker in the search field?

Re: Keyboard oddity in notes field
Calico Pie immediately suggested that my macro was outputting ANSI characters rather than UTF8 text. They were exactly right. I was able to fix it by pasting a UTF8 version into my macro and now all is well.

Keyboard oddity in notes field
I have a keyboard with a few macro keys. One of them is set to output Łódź. It works perfectly in most of the property box fields, "place" for example. The notes field, however, displays only ód with an empty space where the Ł is supposed to be. Oddly enough, if I copy Łódź from, say, Notepad or Lib...

Re: Line spacing in narrative report
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm using the RTF output with LibreOffice. They seem to work pretty well together.

Re: Line spacing in narrative report
Dear Mike, I understand that reports can't be edited inside FH7. I have to edit some of the sentence templates in FH7. I'm nearly finished adjusting the global templates. Unfortunately my RootsMagic data wasn't always entered consistently. Consequently, some facts require local templates. It's easie...

Re: Line spacing in narrative report
Thanks, Mike. With so many controls available — margins, font sizes and the like — one would think that line spacing and paragraphing could easily have been included. The RTF solution will work perfectly well, however. I only wanted the double-spaced reports to ease the editing process; single-space...

I would like to print a narrative report with the lines double spaced. I don't see line spacing among the format or page layout tabs in the Report Options box.

Export GEDCOM file writing behaviour
Dear Mike, I have encountered some strange file-writing behaviour whilst using the unpublished version (4.3.2) of Export GEDCOM. If I write the plugin's output file to FH7\project_name\Public\Export\ the file is written, but subsequent runs to that directory do not replace the earlier output file. I...

Nested function sentence template
I am trying to devise a template function which will return "the Bronx" whenever the word "Bronx" appears within a fact place. If the word doesn't appear, the template should return the Bronxless place. This is as close as I've been able to come: {=TextIf (%FACT.PLAC% = (ContainsText(%FACT.PLAC%, "B...

Need lower case for labels and values in sentences
In a number of my sentences the entry for a value or label appears capitalized, thus: "Jane Doe was Widowed on the death of . . . " That's from a role entry I've made for "widowed" in the death fact. It doesn't seem to matter whether I've made with role with a capital or lower-case W. Here's the tem...

Thanks Mike. I can do most globally, but I do have a number of facts which will require local editing. The open Notepad suggestion is excellent -- especially since I am using dual monitors.

Box for editing sentences
I have a great deal of sentence editing to do. Is there any way of increasing the vertical size of the sentence editing space in the property box?
