Re: Custom Report Narrative
Thank you Mike, {blank} is excellent!
Will try those other ideas.
Here is what I get from TMG narrative report:
Caleb5 Balch (Caleb4, John3, Benjamin2, John1)
Listing the ancestors back to the root person, great way for people to reference their lineage

Narrative report Facts Shortenend
I have some individuals who do not have a specific date of birth/marriage/death.. just a year. In my narrative report these facts are omitted. The "sentence" is there, the fact is within the record; however, the actual year does not appear. Report: Freeborn Balch (1634-1657). Birth: Died: Facts: Bir...

Re: Custom Report Narrative
One more question. TMG has back reference generations within its narrative reports, is this possible w/ Family Historian? Really liked this feature, being able to see the prior ancestor individuals going back to the focus person.

Custom Report Narrative
Recent convert from TMG.. still trying to get the hang of Family Historian. I am going through the videos, help items, and these forums. The Journal Narrative report was my go to report from TMG. I export to Word, do some editing, and produce books. With 13,000 people in the genealogy, it can be ove...

Re: A potential Convert from TMG
Former TMG user with 13,000 in database. My notes also did not come over in prior versions of Family Historian. This latest version, they all came over.. I think, haven't looked at all of them. The notes showed up under facts. Thank you for the suggestions regarding last person.. I also miss this fe...

Re: TMG Import & Narrative Report
I tried the rtf and the rtf convert to Word process.. all I can say is.. ugh! With over 900 pages in my book, and now 13,000 individuals - the amount of editing that is needed after rtf is monumental. Using Word, I still have to edit spacing & picture layout - but that is nothing compared to RTF. I ...

Re: Text Formatting In FH6?
Thank you Bob Ward, I agree completely and have contacted Calico to express this wish for export/print to Word. I have about 13,000 individuals in my file and just published a book using the TMG output to Word. The book is about 900 pages. I did need to do some editing of spacing, pictures layout, b...

Re: TMG Import & Narrative Report
I did the direct import from TMG and none of my notes transferred. When I did the gedcom, the pictures did not transfer. It is much easier to put the pictures back in, than to copy/paste all of the notes on 13,000 individuals. The direct import is a great idea, if it will grab my notes. I did create...

TMG Import & Narrative Report
I am a TMG user who has about 13,000 descendants in one database. I exported the file as a gedcom, and did the FH import using FH 6.0. The FH import did not grab my notes. I did create this field myself, and the tag is Personal Notes. The FH gedcom import did not grab all of my pictures. If I had to...
