I have tested a reimport of my TMG project in FH 708.
It's in Norwegian and some tags/facts are user defined with Norwegian names and also shown as Facts in Norwegian in FH.

The results were OK, but I still don't understand the subset of 23 included.
If I did not select the 23, there are 127000x127000 comparisons?

Find Duplicate Individuals; why so long time?
A project with 127000 individuals.
Selected a subset of only 23 records.
Plugin says Estimated run time is only a few seconds, but it took over 50 minutes.
Why this long time?
Why not search only the 23 records?

Thank you Leslie for information/example. Here is another example from my data - TMG + FH + RM7 - showing that RM7 does it correctly with the direct import from TMG. TMG 9.05: Skjermbilde 2021-07-11 103718.png FH 7.07 - second Name is "Flink Flink", wrong! Skjermbilde 2021-07-11 103916.png RM 7.6.5 ...

Re: Import from TMG, Name-Variation lost Given Name
I imagine there are no TMG direct import options for that feature. So you need to discuss it with CP via their http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php Support Tickets. Done. With test project and screen shots. This is a very serious problem for FH since RootsMagic has not this kind of issue. It...

Persons having a Name-Variation name in addition to their Name have lost their Given Name.

Re: Import from TMG, adoptive parents wrong
As far as I can see from your screenshots and the small test project, the Adoptive Parents are correct. They don't have the same surname as the adopted child (as expected). Whereas, the Biological Parents father does have the same surname as the child. I suspect what is confusing you is the order o...

Import from TMG, adoptive parents wrong
After importing an adopted person from TMG the biological parents are wrong, they are shown as adoptive persons with "Relationship to Parents" = adopted.

Re: Individual records list; also show alternate names
Thanks again, and I asked the same question over a year ago.
Still the FH list is not as helpful as the name/index list in Legacy9 and RootsMagic where the _same column_ has _both_ the birth name and married name sorted alphabetically.

Is it possible to show persons listed by their alternate names in the Individual records list?
In alphabetical order; a) by main name and b) by alternate name.

Re: Alternate names in Indiv Records list; how to show?
Thanks for the 2 alternatives, they worked in a way, but I'm not at all satisfied that FH does not show ALL names in it's standard Individual Names list. There is a Filter option in the Individuals list; "Alternate names". But it does not work, showing no alternate names. TMG has shown ALL names (al...

Alternate names in Indiv Records list; how to show?
I have a project with royal families of Norway and UK (from my TMG database). a) I can't find out how to show king Olav's alternate name "Alexander Edward Christian Frederik" in the sorted names list, it seems not possible? b) It seems that the Source of Olav's alternate name is NOT imported from TM...

Re: Sorting names alphabetically; Norwegian special characte
TMG sorts all names in the way the user wants, like Norwegian. FH should look at this Unicode report: http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr10/ "This report is the specification of the Unicode Collation Algorithm (UCA), which details how to compare two Unicode strings while remaining conformant to the re...

Re: Sorting names alphabetically; Norwegian special characte
Thanks for the answer, but "alphabetical order" is not the same in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and UK, not to mention German or Spanish. TMG has a "Collate sequence" under Preferences where we can select NORDAN which is the sorting for Norway+Denmark. I asked for plans to translate FH to other languages...

Sorting names alphabetically; Norwegian special characters
The sorting of names starting with the 3 last characters (æøå -ÆØÅ) in Norwegian is not 100% correct.
Names like "Aase" is not sorted together with "Åse".
This is not a problem in TMG, which also has correct sorting in Swedish and Danish.
