I was struggling to get a Census table to fit my Booklet. Going Landscape A4 and editing the table still left a column off the page. I then realised that mimicking the Census form landscape table format was my problem, it would easily fit if I made it Portrait, there were fewer Individuals than Cens...

I am happy with your wording Helen.
It will be interesting to see if CP do come up with a solution, how they do it.
My 'left field' solution would be to minimise spaces and unused lines, convert to an image then scale the image to fit chosen output. Haven't a clue how though !!

Thanks for your comments gentlemen. As Mike has probably guessed this comes from my trying to get a Book that will print from FH. I have used the Census template quite extensively, even retrospectively, and it was only when I came to reprint a book I realised most of the tables were not a A4 fit. Go...

I have checked and couldn't find this raised before.
Would it be possible for the templates tables to have the option to 'Shrink to Fit' ?
Removing excess column width and unfilled rows.

I thought I had read that changes had been made to correct formatting problems, obviously not this!
I suppose I ought to be grateful that FH does such a good job in Book creation.
However it is mildly annoying that the nice new feature tabulating Census data causes one of the main problems.

I thought the layout problems of Census forms in a Book were sorted but it seems it still remains. White on page, green/grey off.

I use the drag and drop method he described, particularly with Certificates. I half-screen FH, open a new source record, d&d the media onto it, then open it in Player so I can have it open to read and type the details into the record. The essential step is the first one. Not really got to grips with...

The Flag box in the Property window is tiny on my high res' screen.
As there seems to be a lot space around it, would it make sense to mention this to CP?

Thanks Helen. I wondered about a custom Query but didn't know they could change flags.
I quickly tried it and don't seem to have set the right Row criteria, the results are showing individuals with DODs.
Add if %INDI.DEAT:YEAR% is null
Add if %INDI.BIRT.DATE:Year is greater than 1900

Is there a bulk way of setting this? I looked at the Plugins but couldn't see one that did. My criteria would be something like: DOB > 1900 and DOD = Null. Yes it is the tabular Census data that are over wide and has empty rows.

Is it possible to switch from portrait to landscape and back to portrait with the book?
The Descendants section seems less editable than others.

Is there a way to edit these, or the page they are on, so they fit the page?

I thought the Refresh Book was for changes made in Edit Book , references, page numbers, Index etc. So it will include descendants in the Descendants by Generation that have been added since the last time of opening? OK, so I will have to deconstruct the Word document and try and rebuild it in Notes...

I believe that a Book is a snapshot of the chosen data so what is the most effective way of updating its content ? All I can think of doing is deleting a re-inserting the sections effected. Also, is it possible to include in the book a Media Document that is linked to an individual in the Book? The ...

I corrected them all but I had to make one of them 'Unknown' as the first name could be male or female. The text display is fine for everything except the lowest c...

Rolled back to the previous version and tried an Update, it errored and crashed FH.
Not sure what to try now?

I tried it again after clearing all check boxes, same result and error. Freezes at 33%.
