Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
I've worked through one of my 1901 records!. In essence, and as per the attachment above, the couple have no Birth or Death events, and nor do their three children. I have no ancestors on the husbands side (Ern Briggs) while on the wife's side (Doris M Button) I have her parents dates as 1895-1953 (...

Thanks Mike - I'll look at the Help and work through the estimation process to see how these dates came about.

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Thanks Mike - that looks better!. I have been through the Result Set after running the updated Plugin and all Individuals have LMO Sort Dates in line with what I expected based on your published rules. As I had already input manually some LMO Sort Dates (e.g. for undated Baptisms with dated Births, ...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Mike - certainly finding that the changes to the Result Set are helpful in respect of the Different from Fact Date - fewer records reported (on my project) makes it easier to identify differences that really need investigation. On the other hand, the change in respect of GEDCOM Fact is Missing means...

Re: Backup settings plug-in: when to use
I am sure everyone will have different answers to the "frequency" question, but for me, I run it once a week. At the same time I also run a "Small Backup" - output from both these actions goes in to a "Backup" folder in my "Documents" folder (the "Documents" folder also holds my Family Historiorian ...

Re: Sort Date & Gedcom to GedSite
As mentioned above, version 3.4.1 of the Export Gedcom is a development release and therefore not in the Plugin Store so any formal checks would not pick this up as being the "latest and greatest".

Re: Sort Date & Gedcom to GedSite
Mike attached a 3.4.1 version of the Export Gedcom plugin to the Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM (15484) (Page 2) thread that "recognises LMO Sort Dates created by the..." Sort Date plugin.

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Evelyn - as Mike has already indicated, the plugin can be run as often as you like within FH - it will not modify existing LMO/Sort Dates and will add any missing ones. I left TMG some time ago (basically, shortly after its demise was announced) and therefore do not have a TMG export to run the plug...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Mike - just to let you know, "no news is good news"!. I am continuing to test each version of the plugin against newly created copies of my main project, but to date have not found any issues / queries over and above those already mentioned here. As before, I don't have a TMG export so this is purel...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
I have events with BET dates of just years (eg 1939-1945) and some with Month Years - it all depends on what source data I have. That said, don't forget - you can add or change a LMO Sort Date in FH. Although I don't have the TMG exports any more (I moved away from TMG for my main processing too lon...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Don't know if you have looked at it, but there is a Plugin (from Calico Pie) called "Find Date Phrases" which states in the description "Search all Facts and list all Dates which contain Date Phrases rather than dates. Very useful as a base to clean up badly formatted dates from imported GedCom file...

Re: Windows 10 update 18 Dec 2017
In their defence, Microsoft starting rolling out the Fall Creators Update in October!. I installed the update at that time and, whilst I have had a few of the access permission issues Mike alluded to in previous updates (although not with FH), I had no problems with this update.

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Sorry Mike. The Birth Fact belongs to the child, while the Occupation and Residence facts belong to the Informant (the Father in my case). The Birth Fact utilises the Witness feature and has the Father listed as the Informant. Thus, when viewed in the Facts tab, this Witness Role appears against the...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
All looking good so far Mike. As intimated earlier, I am not using a TMG file - I also have never utilised the Note labelled "Sort Date: " approach so have carried out no testing involving these (your points 2 and 3 in the Help "Sort Date Auto-Derivation" section). In respect of point 5 "Undated fac...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM

Further checks of Individuals Facts showing no additional issues. A couple of general things I have noticed: #1...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
I have also noticed that in instances where the Fact Type is "Attribute" and the Fact has a value against it, then the "Fact Summary" only reports that value (viz. it does NOT contain the Fact Name) - see example below (the "5" and "Servant"):

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Mike - looking good so far!. Your b & c both work as described. The new "results" Record Set is very helpful. Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
Evelyn - Unless I have missed something, Mike indicated that the new plugin can be run multiple times as one of the criteria it uses is "Does a Sort Date exist on the Fact record?", and if it does then the plugin skips that Fact. I plan on running the "final" version of the plugin against my FH proj...

Re: Import from TMG with Sort Date in GEDCOM
I have run the plugin against a copy of my main project - 4000+ records with new "sort dates" inserted in the blink of an eye!. I moved over from TMG too long ago to have the option to use a TMG Gedcom export so your Rule # 2 was not utilised in the processing. The subsequent output though does high...

Re: Import from TMG Summary
I would concur with Mike's original comment that there is no single checklist. One point I would (respectfully) disagree on though is #1 in your first post - that all changes should be made after the import to FH. I spent over three months importing / changing data in TMG / re-importing, etc., until...

Re: V6 Backup very large files
Thanks Mike. The Small Backup is purely "belt and braces" but, because I keep 4-5 months of them it does allow me to go back and look at an old one if I perceive something odd / wonder what some record used to look like, etc. Yes, that was a typo - it is the C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie folder that is ...
