Re: Quick sanity check on backup and restore of AS settings
I backup AS Options, Census Templates and AutoText every few months. My operating system just failed and needed a refresh so all programs, etc were lost. After reinstalling, I loaded each of the three backups and all were back to the way they were before the failure.

Re: 1921 UK Census AS Source Template
I've not seen anything about anybody generating a 1921 template yet although I'm sure somebody will - that said, it is pretty easy to generate one yourself.

Re: Importing from TMG death of a baby
Perhaps I'm missing the point here, but where I have a child who died under the age of one I enter the Months / days (as appropriate) in the Age field on the Death fact, or select "Infant" or, for one one sad case, "Stillborn"

Re: appearance of AS inWindows 10
Same as me!. Might be worth playing around with a couple of the other fonts - although, for my setup, I haven't so far found anything that is better than Tahoma. Otherwise, can only suggest wating and seeing if others have alternate suggestions. Sorry!

Re: appearance of AS inWindows 10
I recently also moved to a new laptop and did not have this type of problem. What are your settings in AS Tools / Customise, particularly Font?. If your FH display is okay then it implies overall Windows display Options (viz. Resolution, Scale, etc) are okay

Re: Sorting by dates of facts not always working
Have you checked the "Normal Time" setting on these facts?. I believe these need to be set to "Post Death" to appear after other facts - this is the setting I have on my "Medal (Posthumous)" fact and it auto appears after the Death fact.

Re: Change Anecdotes to Notes?
I have used Anecdote facts quite a bit over the years and have the story / comment in the Notes field. Just as Jane suggests, I have the sentence for the fact set to only show this note both within FH and in the application I use for generating my website.

Re: Reordering Events in Property Box
I am like you in that I may well start off with a GRO Quarter date and will then amend it later if I get a more precise date (Death Certificate / Probate record, etc), and will cite both sources in the single Death fact. I would agree with your second paragraph that if the two separate facts are ind...

Re: Reordering Events in Property Box
A quarter date is effectively recorded in the underlying Gedcom file as "from ... to ..." - have you tried putting in a Sort Date on the Registration fact?. I use this regularly where I have this sort issue with two facts.

Re: Multiple Facts/Events to the same thing
Taking again, Birth as an example, I normally only have one Birth fact and will cite multiple Source records as required. If the Birth "story" get too complex then I will add a Note to that Birth fact and explain what I have done / guessed and my reasoning, cross referring to those Source records as...

Re: Spellcheck / Ignore Spelling option
An update re the Spellcheck problem. I received an email overnight from CP advising that the issue had been fixed and giving me an option to download the pre-release version 7.0.8 . I have done that and can confirm that the issue has been resolved - viz. installing the update did not reset the custo...

Re: Clone any Record Plug-in
Evelyn - I use the Clone plugin to create copies of Source records, in particular ones such as Grant of Probate, which I don't capture via Ancestral Sources - using the Clone plugin ensures I maintain consistent layout / wording in these types of source records.

Re: Illegitimate Births
I'm not aware of any "flag" or similar. I use the AS Autotext option to record information in the FH Text From Source field, so once I have input all data in AS I add something to that text before saving the record. Later (if I remember!), I usually add a comment to the Birth or Baptism fact within ...

Re: Using selected Text from Source in sentence templates
As I said in my earlier response, you can achieve this automatically by modifying the templates. Yes, it's a "hit" on your time to start with (by having to change the main templates - took me about 30 minutes to change all the English & Welsh ones) but after that you don't have to remember to go bac...

Re: Using selected Text from Source in sentence templates
I'm not aware of any way to extract the text directly from the Text in Source, but I have modified the AS templates such that my sentences now show, for example, "..... at Farm House in Henley, Somerset, England. Relationship to Head of Family: Head, Marital Status: Married, Occupation: Farmer 20 Ac...

Thanks Mark - should have thought of my backup as well!. That Program Data folder is auto backed up to the "cloud" each day with my Documents, Photos, etc., but I might well have a look at a separate batch file that I can run prior to installing updates in future.

Spellcheck / Ignore Spelling option
Not sure if I'm missing a setting here or not, but it seems to me that the "spellcheck" dictionary is being reset each time a new version of FH is installed (I'm on 7.07). I don't make great use of the process but in various Note fields I know I have used the "Ignore Spelling" option for a number of...

Re: AS census method 1 address lookup
Nick will probably come back with further details, but I find if I start to type the Place Name then AS will auto fill it in if it finds a matching Place record in FH. For addresses, the dropdown list has a list of addresses associated with that Place (make sure you have the Church icon unticked!), ...
