FMP Hints Error
I am aware of how to resolve the issue with the error message "{"statusCode":400,"error":"Bad Request","message":"Invalid cookie header"}" when looking at hints on FMP but does anybody know why this error occurs?. I am getting a tad fed up with having to regularly access the settings on my browser t...

Re: FMP Hint 'Bubbles'
When you say you have "cleared" them, can you confirm you have hit the "Yes - Accept" or "No-Reject" button in the FMP page or have you done something else?

Re: Other Information
Personally I would think the question still remains as to where that description would appear on the AutoText. I have never seen the word on a Birth Certificate so would not want it on the transcript of the certificate and, for older parish record, the description on the ones I have is along the lin...

Re: Adding sources without templates
In the example you have posted there are, as you say, no Citations / Sources associated with the Baptism Fact. At the bottom of the right hand pane there is a single "active" icon (bottom left) - when you hover over it the text says "Add Source Citation". This opens a Sources window where you can se...

Re: Linked census records
AS will auto create a Census fact in FH for each individual you have selected and included within the grid (in AS). If you have chosen to use "Method 1" then each individuals Census fact will reference the Source record that has been created within FH.

Re: Linked census records
If by "...link a census event to other family members..." you are referring to others on the census schedule, then "yes" as AS creates a Source record and the census fact for each family member references that source record. If you have used AutoText then the source record will also include details ...

Re: Death records
Per Neil's screenshot, if one / both parents are known and recorded within FH , then they would be shown here - in your screenshot, neither parent is recorded within FH and so you only get "...is not referred to..." option. Where they are recorded and selected in this screen, the Family tab is popul...

Re: 1861 Census record for HM Ships at sea
Personally, I wouldn't over complicate things, and would treat the Address as the ship name with it's location in the Place field. That said, it really depends on how you use your data - just on reports or a website or.... as the Fact sentence obviously needs to "read" right!.

Re: Other Information
It comes back to what AutoText template do you select within AS when inputting data?. You may well have to modify one or more of the templates, but without knowing which ones you use it's very difficult to give anything other than generic advice. As far as I recall (and I may well be wrong here - I'...

Re: Other Information
The Autotext Templates "Generic....." and "Generic ..... (Data Only)" that I use for Death, Birth, etc includes the {OTHER} tag so anything I put in the field (which I very rarely use) gets included in the Source record "Text from Source" field. I don't have that tag in other templates that I use (e...

Surprised to hear that as I've been using Windows 11 for some time now and have no problems with copy / paste, but perhaps I copy different things to you?. On the Administrator front, Microsoft and others have recommended for years that you have an "ordinary" user (or more) which you use on a daily ...

Re: am I missing a setting? Attaching media to facts
I'm sure Nick W will reply in due course, but I'm pretty sure one of the main features of AS is that for a given Census record, all the Individual Census facts created from it all link to a single Source record and that Source record is where the Media link resides. I have not seen, nor would expect...

The <br> throws a new paragraph so I'm guessing that the " at the end of preceding lines would be expected as that is the opening character of the Marriage sentence.

Re: Standard Fact Set
I always put the church name in the Address field and add the town in square brackets so that it does not get printed - eg "St Marys Church, [[Bridgwater]]" and "St Marys Church, [[Bristol]]", etc. The fact sentence (for a Marriage) I have as "<br>{individual} married< {spouse/her/him}> {date}< at {...

Haven't started tracking Martha yet, but Henry & Martha's daughter Bessie was baptised in 1873, and in the 1881 Census was living at a hotel in Epsom with two of Henry's sister's. By 1891 she had moved on to Croydon (per Census for that year) and shortly after a person of the same name was married i...

Re: Edit of Marriage record
There is a divorce record on FMP. Might it be 'your' Martha? I'm guessing that the word after Martha Tapscott's name is her maiden name (Talbot) but according to the various records I've seen (multiple Marriage record transcripts, and the Banns) all have her as Gollop, so it is unlikely but certain...

The marriage record also shows his occupation as Shoemaker. Talking with some Greek friends last night, they got as far as "Eloped + Younger of .... " but couldn't work out what the last word was. Re: What is an objective definition of "Splitting"?
Must admit I had been tempted to respond to Helen's post about the revised forum groupings to say that a separate "Gedcom" forum really needs to be included - some of the recent discussions which have degenerated into disagreements about the meaning of certain words in the Gedcom specs really are of...

Re: Edit of Marriage record
Not found any so far Nick - there are 250+ pages in the register, so haven't gone through them all. It does seem strange, I would almost say, "modern" given the way the words in the note are written and how the writing is so dissimilar to anything else in the register.
