Re: Source - Where Used

Just wanted to thank Jim for the 'List All Citations for All Sources' plugin which is exactly what I was looking for to help identify and resolve some missing citation entry dates and assessments. I was about to start a new thread on this but persevered in searching for an existing solution and foun...

Re: Issue with Export Gedcom File Plugin v1.8

In the export file there is no occurrences of '0 @F1@ FAM' or any other family # in this format. The first reference to family (FAM) is: 1 FAMC @F2@ 1 FAMS @F1@ ...then after more lines.... 1 FAMC @F23@ etc Here are the last few lines of the exported gedcom, from the last line that matches 'FAM': 1 ...

Re: Issue with Export Gedcom File Plugin v1.8

Sorry Mike. My mistake....I was searching the Gedcom file that had been created in the export folder from one of my attempts to export using the plugin (where the process froze at 36%) and it did not contain any occurrence of '0 @F2@ FAM'. So I searched my master gedcom file (from ...fh_data folder)...

Re: Issue with Export Gedcom File Plugin v1.8

Thanks Mike. The first occurrence of F2 in the file is as follows and the very next line includes F1 (which is also the first occurrence of F1 in the file):

1 FAMC @F2@
1 FAMS @F1@

I can provide more if that helps.

Issue with Export Gedcom File Plugin v1.8

Hi Firstly, I would like to thank Mike Tate for the wonderful Export Gedcom Plugin which I have been using v1.7 successfully to export files for upload to TNG. I upgraded to v1.8 today but found that it freezes at 36% progress. I tried with a few different settings (different multimedia conversions,...

Re: Export from FH6 and Import to TNG

Thanks Mike. I have successfully imported my FH6 gedcom and media to TNG, following your advice on pre-creating custom events and using UTF-8 BOM. All fields looks to be populated as expected and media is linked. I have also made some subsequent updates by editing fields and media notes in FH6 and t...

Re: Export from FH6 and Import to TNG

Thanks for the swift reply, Mike. I did see a prior post with the predecessor plugin help and advice. However, I was initially confused as in the latest TNG version, the help states "TNG automatically sets up Custom Event Types for all non-standard events included in your GEDCOM file..." and so I th...

Export from FH6 and Import to TNG

Hi I am preparing to export a TNG-ready gedcom (with links to media) from Family Historian V6 (FH6) and then import to TNG so I can share my research via my TNG website with my family and friends. I have read a number of very helpful posts on this topic and also have the excellent ‘Export Gedcom Fil...

Table of Pictures not created using Improve Website plugin

Privacy options to show media but no facts for Living

Hi I'm trying to configure the privacy options on the 'Individual Summary Report (for Web, CD or DVD)' so that when displayed on my website it displays 'media' for living (flagged) individuals, but does not show any facts. IE shows name and media only. I thought the following privacy options would w...

Re: Quick way to remove custom attributes

Thanks Mike. I found the :Surname and :Given subfields and added them as columns to the query. However, when I try to remove them per Jane's post, it deletes the whole individual record. Conversely, if I navigate to the Individual in the standard FH list view and expand the 'Name' hierarchy and then...

Re: Quick way to remove custom attributes

Thanks Jane. I'm not sure where to find the attribute fields for 'Surname' and 'Given' when creating the query filter. An example of how the these are displayed against an individual in the list window is: Name: George /Barron/ Given: Barron Surname: George When I'm creating an individual query, I h...

Quick way to remove custom attributes

Hi For the majority of the individuals in my FH, there are attibutes under the 'Name' fact called 'Given' and 'Surname'. I think these must have been created when I originally imported my gedcom from Ancestry, but I have ignored them as harmless. However as I clean up my family tree, is there a quic...

Re: Configuring Places (containing Farm) in Sentence Templat

Thanks Mike. I wasn't sure why I referred to the records window regarding hiding commas! I really meant the Focus window. I now feel suitably humbled

You have presented some good options for me to consider. Thanks again for your valuable insights.

Re: Configuring Places (containing Farm) in Sentence Templat

Thanks for the advice, Mike. For now, I was actually thinking of keeping the 3 columns, understanding that I lose the benefits (sorting etc.) of adding an additional column and having a structured regime. So in the case of where I have more than 3 columns worth of data I see that it simply groups th...

Re: Configuring Places (containing Farm) in Sentence Templat

Thank you very much for your help, Jane. The function that you provided works perfectly! Thanks also, Adrian, for your advice. It is well taken! Configuring Places (containing Farm) in Sentence Templates

Hi I have been trying to configure my sentence templates so they appear the way I want them to in Narrative reports. I thought it wouldn't take long, but after a many hours of research, reviewing the FHUG Forum, experimentation, fussiness and like everyone else, trying to settle on my Place/Address ...
