Re: Upgrading FH6 to 7
Hi sorry for any confusion but no I wasn't asking about a free upgrade (did my post mention the word free??), all i want to know is can I skip re-installing FH6 and go straight to purchasing FH7 and then use my backups to open my existing projects? Thanks in anticipation.

I have just bought a new PC and therefore need to re-install FH and the projects that I was researching. As I was previously running FH6 (fully up to date), can I skip the need to re-install and simply download the latest version of the program and then use my latest backups to open the various tree...

MBE awarded & military records untraceable
I have an uncle who was awarded the Order of the British Empire but I am damned if I can find out what it was awarded for! Can anyone help? I have checked the London Gazette for 6 June 1919 and 15 Sept 1920 (as the envelope was date stamped 9 Sep 1920) but these do not appear to hold any reference t...

Re: creating a file for Ancestry with no facts for living individuals
tatewise. I am indebted to you and after seeing reviewing the UDF list I can see why previous uploads to Ancestry have turned out to be semi-failures!!! I will carry out all these suggested actions & hopefully this attempt will be more successful.

Re: creating a file for Ancestry with no facts for living individuals
On 9 Feb 2017 tatewise gave this advice:- May I suggest these three simpler but more comprehensive steps: Use File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File to create a Gedcom of all Individuals with all Note, Multimedia, and Repository records excluded. Use the Clean Living People plugin to change the...

Find my Past Hints
Hallo Does anybody know why the FMP hints are not allowing the option to either accept or reject them? I just wondered if the FMP website was suffering from an overload because of the latest offer that they are running re. free access to Census returns? Also when using the back to hints button I get...

Thank you tatewise for clearing that up.
Does that therefore mean that this Knowledge Base instruction needs to be archived?

Ancestral Sources Template ~ Census UK 1939 Register
Would be glad of some guidance. Am I correct in the assumption that 1939.xml UK 1939 Register Template file should be saved into the \Ancestral Sources\Settings\ folder and should appear there as a file in that folder please? It's just that it isn't in there although as far as I can see all seems to...

I am a bit baffled! :o I have some how managed to mess something up with one of my families. Thank you tatewise that is a huge help!
