That sounds like excellent news.
Thanks for the prompt response.

Re: Books and Index
Hi I thought I might resurrect this thread as I am thinking of upgrading to version 7. I am currently still using version 6, but was wondering if the report index in version 7 still compiled entries the same way as I discovered back in 2017 for version 6. I did not receive any feedback from Calico P...

Re: FH7 Paragraphs missing in reports
Hi I understand about about the confidentially agreement between Beta testers and the publisher, but with reference to my comment previously in parenthesis (or if it was has not been actioned prior to release of V7) it is still surprising it seems to have slipped the net by the publisher and as such...

Re: FH7 Paragraphs missing in reports
I have yet to purchase version 7, but would add my comments to this thread as follows: I have customised many of my sentence templates for use in narrative reports and a lot have <br> (or in some instances <para>) at the beginning to force a new line. Nothing looks worse in a report than a mass of t...

Re: Names in Ancestor Narrative Reports
Hi Tatewise Many thanks for the possible solution. I tried replacing Exists(%FACT.DATE%) with DayNumber(%FACT.DATE%)>0 which worked, but then fell foul of dates which I have been editing (correcting?) with Julian dates i.e entered then appear with a [J] prefix in the Birth date field. I guess an add...

Re: Names in Ancestor Narrative Reports
Hi again Many thanks Tatewise for the heads up on the conditional sentence construction. I modified my customised birth fact with the additional conditional items and text, but thought that I had done something wrong. No matter how hard I tried the birth fact generated sentence would resolutely say ...

Names in Ancestor Narrative Reports
Hi When I produce an ancestor narrative report where I have a number of ancestors which do not have a birth or baptism, the section within the report for the individual concerned does not have a name after the number (see snips below from my numbers 139 and 141.) I am wondering what is the best way ...

Source Record Table
Hi When compiling a ‘Book’ within Family Historian which contains an Ancestors by Generation Report, I thought it would be a good idea to include the Census series code information such as HO 107/1012/12 which would appear at the end of the report (when linked by relevant citations) along with an im...

Re: "Ancestors by Generation" - NOT in narrative form?
Hi All I tend to agree that the default Narrative style of reports guilt into FH initially presented me with a block of text filling the page which was difficult to read. By placing a <br> in front of each Fact within the sentence template improved the appearance no end. However, the sentences gener...

Re: Books and Index
Hi Have received a reply from Calico Pie Support requesting that I submit one of my Narrative Reports along with a list of examples of where within the report the index page number of a Place/Occupation is at variance to the page on which they actually appear. Have done this and apparently this will...

Re: Books and Index
Hi Have raised a ticket with Calico Pie regarding the above, including a reference to this thread. I will await their response and report back in due course. I will be away for a number of days, so will be unable to post any feedback I may receive until the latter part of the forthcoming week at the...

Re: Books and Index
Hi Again Have looked at at the same Narrative Report as a stand alone report with the relevant options enabled so as to generate an index with Places, Occupations, to appear on a separate page at the end. It appears to suffer the same issues as when included in a Book as described previously. Consid...

Books and Index
Hi I have been having a play with the ‘Book’ function within Family Historian to see what a typical booklet could look like. I have successfully compiled a book containing the following: • Title page • Contents • Family Group Sheet • Individual Narrative Report • Index So far so good, then I thought...

Diagram Expressions disappearing?
Hi Everyone With a diagram displayed, I have over noticed from a few days ago that I have lost all of my expressions dealing with the display of icons on diagrams apart from the default ones (Sex, Box Type and <default>)..........when one clicks on Diagram>Options>Boxes (Tab) . They have been perfec...

Expressions for Diagram Baptism Icons
Hi Following on from my previous postings with regard to diagram icons and attempting to show Marriage events in chronological order with respect to Census icons, I discovered an ancestor born in January 1891 who was Baptised in 1892. Hence a further set of expressions now needed to be compiled to e...

Hi Rodit Just in case you missed it, have a look at another of my postings entitled Expressions for Diagram Icons......where I have endeavoured to arrange icons in a chronological order.... Expressions for Diagram Icons
Hi there Thought I might share my latest musings and attempts to sort out my expressions to display icons on diagrams. Re: Burial and Interred (or similar) Icons on Diagrams
Thanks Tatewise........I think that has done the trick. :D Removed the 'Mysterious' Source Note and re-directed the Burial FACT Type to look at the local note and Narrative Reports function as required and the spurious Source in the Sources listing in the FGS has gone..... Phew! It's a bit of a subt...

Re: Burial and Interred (or similar) Icons on Diagrams

The third Source is listed after the two true burial sources and is associated with...

Re: Burial and Interred (or similar) Icons on Diagrams
Moving on from my previous deliberations (see above), I have used what I believe are called meta-fields within the Note of a Burial Fact to generate my required sentences. My current Burial Fact Template: <br>{individual} was buried {date} with an entry within the Register of {_place} <with another ...

Re: Burial and Interred (or similar) Icons on Diagrams
Hi All I’m re looking at my attempts to display different burial icons on diagrams dependent upon what sources/citations/media images I currently have. I agree with Tatewise that what has been entered to date relating to my Burial and Interred Facts was a somewhat ham fisted way as a workaround in a...
