Re: Excluding Attributes/Events from Reports
Thanks. I have manually amended all the reports and I don't see myself at the moment creating lots of custom attributes. I was just looking for an quick way to cycle through each report and exclude an attribute with a click of a button

Excluding Attributes/Events from Reports
Me again. I have added a couple of custom attributes including the To Do custom attribute. Is there some code /plugins to go to each report and exclude them rather than having to open each one individually?
Thanks
Mel

Re: Best format of PLACe and ADDRess for Map Geocoding
Thanks for this post. I have started tidying up my locations and didn't realiae about the extra columns. My question is that I now have four columns using the suggested format but an extra one at the beginning for some small villages in a city so something like Coldside, Dundee, Forfarshire [Angus],...

Suggestion for Missing Census Plugin
Hi I have a suggestion for the missing census plugin though not sure how useful or practical it is. Apart from the most common countries needed there may be a requirement for census's for other countries to be searched for. In my family I have France and NZ. Now I am sure it wouldn't be practical to...

Re: Check & Repair media links error
Thanks Mike. Found and fixed. I also found the empty media title too. Are there any other plugins I should run to make sure everything is okay from the migration? I have also run the one that converts the family census to the individual census entries.
Thanks again
Melanie

Check & Repair media links error
Hi I am also having a problem with the media links plugin. I had 23 links needing fixing. and after trying to fix 3 (which I then did manually) I got the following error message (see attached). I have tried rolling back and then not rolling back. Each time one of the bmp gets overwritten with a bad ...

I didn't realise that. I have always used the family for husband and wife and then a separate one for each child.

Re: Flags tab on property window
I'm loving the plugins and have now downloaded it. I did a test run and I'm not sure if I have run it wrong. I did a test for Richard Stephens b. c,1795 in Kingsand. I have a census for 1841-1871 and he died 1881. I ran the plugin and it came up with links for 1831 & 1841. I had a look at my data an...

Re: Flags tab on property window
Merry Christmas to you too Mike. I have never used icons on my diagrams before but looking forward to using them. I had read that flags are mainly redundant and am hoping to clear them down. I am doing a bit of a data cleanse so most of them are for that purpose so accessing them from the property w...

Flags tab on property window
Hi
I am having fun exploring FH6 and I know I saw somewhere that you could add a tab to show all the flags. I have added a tab for a To Do list but I can't find the flags property to add. Do I use the custom attribute and add each flag separately?
Thanks
Melanie

Re: Media files folder structure
I have backed everything up so I might give it ago. I much prefer relative links than absolute links. I will wait till I have had some coffee and the kids are occupied. I used to be pretty tech savvy especially with databases. If all fails I will revert to standalone and contact you after Christmas....

Re: Media files folder structure
Hi I was version 3.1.2. So I have a vague idea on projects from watching the you tube videos and doing some reading. I was reading the tips for new comers in the help file which is why I was a little unsure. For now, should I just select the ged file and leave everything else as it is? I want to do ...

Media files folder structure
Hi I'm sorry if I am going over old ground. I have just upgraded to version 6 (was waiting to Christmas Day, so 2 hours early). I am just reading the tips about the media files. I currently have a folder for all my FH stuff. within this, there is a folder called FH files containing my ged files. I h...

Re: Incorrect Sources
Hi In some cases they are the registers from Scotland (which are as good as) and sometimes it is from then finding lots of census or parish records. There aren't many now and probably not enough to make a big deal of them. I have made the most of some freebie weekends and I have also started doing a...

Re: Incorrect Sources
Is it possible to have an extra assessment called "incorrect" etc or a flag to the source which can then be used to exclude from reports? I don't intend to keep all of them but the ones that caused confusion especially where I have not bought certificates.

Incorrect Sources
Hi I was just wondering how other people treat sources which turn out not to be relevant? I have a lot of birth indexes I am going through and some of them are not correct. Do I just attach them to the birth fact and change the Assessment? I have version 3 but upgrading to version 6 next week. Kind ...

Re: Editing source entry dates
I think I read somewhere to use it for when you add it. I have had it in my head that each source had a date attached to it (turns out it is the media attached to the source). I was going to record the date of the source on the source record and then when I applied it to a fact or event attach that ...

Editing source entry dates
Hi I'm currently using version 3 (not for long) and have realised that I want the entry date to be the date I added the source to the record not the date the original record was created (all my census sources have the census date). Is there any way I can update the dates to when I added it to the fa...
