New to FH: Changing Appearance of Display
When I first started looking at Family Historian I was more than a little disappointed by some of the styling. In case there are other potential users put off by it, please don't be. Many areas (trees (diagrams), property boxes (data entry of individuals), and the focus window (family view) - can al...

Re: Date alignment on Facts tab
Thanks Mike - I will have a go with your suggestion. I so far have not been using date ranges in my dates so not sure that I can comment on that. I've been looking at the timeline in RootsMagic - which does right-align the date column and it is certainly easier on the eye when looking at a long list...

Date alignment on Facts tab
I spend a lot of time studying the timeline of a person and the only way to do it quickly in FH is to look at the Facts section. It would be a lot neater and easier to read if the years could be right-aligned. Could we be given the option to left or right align the date column?

Re: Find My Past Import
Be cautious about the Utility for Ancestry images at llenrup.com. I thought I would give it a go. There is not very much information on the site at all about the developer. I joined his Google Group - there is only one welcome message from John Purnell and no replies. I decided to experiment out of ...

Re: Problem with note field truncating with FTM import
Just providing a bit more feedback. Mike is right, I did see the pattern as outlined in his reply. We did an experiment to see how gedcom files were handled exporting from both Ancestry and FTM and what happened after importing to FH. The following probate record illustrates the problem. Ancestry Or...

Problem with note field truncating with FTM import
I have been trying out both Ancestry and FamilyTreeMaker 2014 to make gedcom imports into FH. The only downside so far with the FTM import has been with my note fields getting chopped off. Up until now I have entered all my data into an Ancestry tree, then used FamilyTreeMaker so that I could downlo...

Thanks for that tip. Useful as I need to look for something portable for record offices etc.

Property Box Facts Tab
Is it possible to make the Date column on the Facts tab right-aligned? So dates with only a year align with those that have a fuller date.

Display fonts
Hello, I am very new to FH and nearly left until I discovered how to change all the fonts, sizes and colours on most of the record windows (eyesight not brilliant these days). It all looked too fuzzy and washed-out until I changed most fonts to Calibri and made them a bit darker and larger. Surprisi...
