Re: death informant
Seems to work ok with British deaths but Canada seems to be a problem.

Re: death informant
I entered the details as it says on AS, bear in mind this was in Canada, however I can't post screenshots as I've completed it now but will do it next time it occurs.

death informant
I've noticed that when I enter a death certificate on AS and enter the informant's name that FH puts the death of the informant at that date as well as the actual deceased? The only way to stop this is to delete the death from the informant's box otherwise it shows him/her as died then too?

Re: Patients
Thank you Mike, I didn't realise that I could change the templates, thought it was for administration to do.

Patients
On the AS census records there is no allowance for patient, similarly I think for step children? One of my relations was in hospital at 1911 UK but I couldn't enter her as a patient but as say a visitor and amend it in the text?

Re: queries about death places
Thank you very much, Mike, the Ancestral Key Details version 2 works wonderfully , the other one will be more useful when I find more emigration dates which are elusive at present. Is there a way of just being able to save/print a report of the Individual names, death dates and places so that it ex...

Re: queries about death places
Hello Mike, Yes I think you know what I'm trying to get to. As the dna test seems to give matches of cousins who live in the USA or other countries outside the UK including Eire, it would be helpful for me to know which of my 17600 plus people came from or ended up in the USA, etc. When I enter plac...

Map window
I was interested to read from my query on emigration that Jane mentioned the Map Window. As yet I've not used this facility. When entering individuals on my tree or updating them, I always try to put bmd locations for them. Is there a video showing how to use the map window so as to show the people ...

Re: queries about death places
Thank you both for the custom query reports, unfortunately Jane's one doesn't give many names whereas Mike's one gives lots of names but not the relevant death location. Perhaps I didn't explain it properly? I need a list that gives the names of my ancestors/relations and the fact that they died in ...

queries about death places
Recently I had my dna tested and the results have shown a lot of 'supposed 2-8th cousins' who live in the USA. They don't seem to know where their ancestors originated! Is it possible to set up a custom query which shows where my ancestors actually died which includes their name, original date and p...

Re: after input of AS plug in
I don't understand this idea of yours that AS isn't a plug in-I get it from the plug in drop down box on FH, same as 'back up and restore FH settings' so it must be a plug in, and have to download it from the plug in store? However, I feel sure in my own mind that before the FH update, data entered ...

after input of AS plug in
I've noticed that if I use the AS plug in to enter say census info for a person/family that once I save and close the plug in, I'm not sent back to the original record but to the beginning of my list at A-is this correct?

Re: Amended AS plug in
Sorry it's my mistake, I recently got a larger monitor and didn't realise that I could 'drag' the line down to reveal the marriage info. Now that my monitor has gone from 15 ins to 31 ins, I can do other things like make the text bigger, etc.
Sorry once again, it's my age...

OK I run the AS plug in from FH as you say but the marriage type didn't work for me. Should I uninstall it and redownload it?

Amended AS plug in
I've downloaded the new modified version of AS but when I use it for marriages, it won't let me enter the 'marriage type' so I have to put it into 'other information'!

Re: Find My Past pale hints
I don't use IE myself, preferring Opera and even Chrome sometimes. Epic is a good browser too for ad free browsing and no tracking.
I usually have fmp open in Opera anyway to check 1939 register with no problems.

Re: Find My Past pale hints
Why do these organisations use IE-it's useless and full of security problems. It doesn't do 'copy and paste', so out of choice I use Opera which is very fast and does all I need.

Re: Find My Past pale hints
I use fh and fmp in combination, usually when researching on fmp it's the 1939 register in another tab but on fh I look at their 'hints' which don't include the 1939 and that is when I sometimes find that the 'hints' are greyed out such that they are unreadable, I press 'new' and makes no difference...
