deckie49 how does that work?

I've redownloaded GD and am now uploading my project to it -taking about an hour but there are nearly 32k people on it.
The project window on FH7 shows no projects within it but it loads the correct project and the blue location shows the correct root.

When I open FH7 it shows the project name FH project. I downloaded Google Drive for desktop on my pc and although it supposedly downloaded, I can only find a shortcut and not the actual folder to put my project into? So no GD isn't in My documents!

Going from bad to worser, the project isn't showing in the project window but it still loads when I click on the icon on my desktop?

I can find Google Drive as part of Gmail and see my old files in there-would be best to delete them and reinstall Drive?

I can't find where the project is stored other than on FH7?

Can I do it from the project window?

I've forgotten how to do that?

Yes today but it shows on C drive as Google but isn't showing or syncronising as it used to do on the toolbar?

Since I bought a new pc (as the old one crashed the motherboard), my project doesn't appear to be backing up and syncronising with Google Drive. In fact the pc main drive which is now just C doesn't show Google Drive? I can see from Chrome that I have Drive but the tree is outdated.How can I fix this?

Thank you Lorna, yes I did have that problem before but since my old pc crashed I couldn't find the post that helped me last time and it's my age.....

I've been trying to use that nice lady's video to do the above but when I do it, it shows the family links but I'm unable to access the highlighting of each family so as to merge them?

I've set it up as you suggested Nick and Mike but still the witnesses are not shown on the Scottish ones? The only one that shows witnesses is the R Generic Marriage Data only?

Yes I think I might have found it under Tools, Options and using the drop down list to show Marriage Settings and using Edit to add _Witness and descriptions.

We might have discussed it last week, Mike, but I still don't know where to find the Witness screen shown in Nick's screenshot; I know where the autotext template for Marriages is but can't find that screen within it?

Would it be simpler to delete this version of AS and install another one? This of screen shots is too complicated for me to attempt.

I did as you suggested by hiding built in modified, Nick, but the result was the same as before. The only marriage record that shows the _Witnesses is the R Generic one, none iof the other Parish Register records showed any witness names? Either I'll have to just use the R Generic for all marriages ...

I have 16 Marriages with R against them which are 8 of each Custom and Built In but AS isn't picking up the ones with _Witness in them but just recording no Witnesses.
Should I delete the 8 original custom ones and retain my 8 Built in ones?

Yes the motherboard ceased working completely. I had no trouble reinstalling FH7 but the Settings Restore for it and AS didn't work very well and especially AS as I must have forgotten to back up the _Witness Settings and used a previous back up.

There is such a mess in the Marriage templates that I wonder if it would be best to delete AS altogether and reinstall it and then amend it afresh?

Yes Mike it was exactly that and although I found an AS options back up in my documents, it was obviously ouit of date regarding the addition of _Witnesses. I tried to add them into the Marriage lists for Parish Registers England 1837- but it appears that it hasn't worked for me and I can only see t...
