media
I bought a new pc in April, now the AS function of adding media seems to be very slow, it used to be nearly immediate but now it takes several seconds. Is this because my tree is so large (32K plus people) or that AS doesn't know where to find the media?

Re: Project window
Yes Mike that worked, now I've the sample and my project in the project window and made mine the default.
If I remember correctly, Mike, did you tell me once that all the media is within my project? If that is so I shouldn't need to keep a separate folder on my pc for media?

Re: Project window
Hi Lorna, The sample sems to have disappeared. I've given up on Google Drive as my tree is no longer as large as it was. When I go to C Drive and Documents it shows initially 3 items including the sample project, and, when I click on the 1st item FH projects it shows FH and my project, see the follo...

Re: Project window
Since I bought a new pc, Mike I don't have an E Drive but C which is 500GB SSD and D which is a 2TB portable drive.
So following your instructions, I went to Documents found FH Projects, clicked on next one called FH Projects and it now shows my Rosser project but no others?

Project window
I recently started a small tree and even though I didn't set it as the default tree, it came up instantly when I opened FH7 today. I browsed for my actual project and found it but it doesn't show in the Project window?

Google Drive
Currently my family tree has reduced in size so that it's no longer above 15 GB but below 10 GB so seems to me that I no longer should be paying for GD. In any case I can't seem to get it to sync my project anyway. I think you told me that all the media is in the project so presumably there is no ne...

Mike I was baffled to start with! I just use the DNA fact as seen in the 'fact list' (but am unsure as to how it works) please see:

Mike, as far as I know I don't have Jane's gedmatch DNA in my lists. I've got 3 types of DNA in my list as you can see here:

Re: DNA matches
Yes it's very simple Mike except that in the list I don't have a ' DNA' or even a 'DNA note'?

Re: Source Records
Excellent Mike, just what I wanted to do, so I guess I'll have to go through the early source records from 1-3000 to pick out the individual's file and edit the address as shown. Nick, I don't know how AS collected the long address line, I only enter the main town, county, etc in the 1st line and th...

Source Records
How can I list the source record numbers from 1 to say 3000 and show what each one says?
It seems that at some point AS has added the whole address including town, county and country in the address line as well as in the place line? If I can see each one I can amend it.

Re: Where Born
The fill down idea would work. However, I'm not talking about all the places in my tree just the ones in the family censuses on AS; usually most of thechildren are born in the same place....

Re: Where Born
Yes I agree with that but just seems more convenient to have a drop down arrow in my opinion.
Also I wonder if there is a shortcut method of finding most used sources?

Citations
When adding a citation, is it possible to amend the list of resources to stay as a lengthy text rather than cut off after a few letters? As in GRO instead of GRO of London.

Where Born
It would be great if you could add a down arrow for 'where born' on the census templates as most people in a family at the census were born at the same place? Saves a lot of duplicate typing or copying and pasting.
