Well I've found the way by hiding the not regularly used facts.
Thank you

Re: Fact Types
Mike, I can't see the Fast-Add Menu, all I can see is Add Fact which when clicked on shows the common facts I set up in the Tools, Fact types, menu as previously mentioned.

Birth places etc on Censuses
Is it possible to be able to have a drop-down list for places of birth, as there are for other common items?

Fact Types
Is there a way to minimise the 'fact types' to just the normal used ones rather than the whole list of every event except the hidden ones? I only ever seem to use the basic ones like bmd, baptism, burial, divorce, occupation, emigration and military service. Could the rest be hidden to?

Re: Calculated Dates
I'm aware of that but I'd like AS to just put the year not add (Cal) to it. I can research further from that year.

Calculated Dates
When I enter a census, marriage, etc, AS calculates the year of birth, marriage, etc. This is great but can it be just left as the year rather than as now year (Cal)?

Re: Linux
Seems best to me then to stick with Windows even though it's updates usually cause problems. Thank you all for your advice and knowledge.

Re: Linux
Hi Mike, does the Windows licence that I have already got to run Win 10 enough for a VM or do I have to buy another one?

Does anyone use Linux instead of Windows? Is it better or worse than Windows for FH7?

Merge 2 projects?
Is it possible to merge a small project into a larger one? I've been researching Irish ancestors and created a separate tree project for them but if in the future I find they're related can I merge them?

Re: Ancestry's 'new' hint system
I put a review of Ancestry's new hint system on Trustpilot and Anc obviously didn't like it and replied accordingly but still haven't reverted. However if everyone else on here also does a similar review, maybe they'll change their minds?

Re: Printed reports
When I go to 'downloads' using FH7 I have to delete the complete name and rename it; in FH6 I could amend it without deleting everything. It seems that CP-like Ancestry and now Scotlands People all want to make using their programs/sites more difficult. It must be some sort of marketing conspiracy? ...

I only ever use the 'Print' option for the report never used Save As. So FH6 was easier to amend than the FH7 version?

Re: Printed reports
Thank you, Mike, I've adjusted the header and now it shows my name on each page of the report as the originator, I guess that is because I entered it in the RHS of the title? I feel sure that when I used to save the report it said something like my name descendants/ ancestors and date, now when I lo...

Printed reports
In FH6 I was able to change the heading of an ancestry report so that it showed the date and my name. Since FH7 the report shows none of this and saves it as an adobe pf as well not the named version as before?
Is there a way to alter this?

Re: Ancestry's 'new' hint system
I agree with you, Mike, Jim, and GowerMick, I have my tree on FH7 and on my pc as well as backed up to GoogleDrive. I upload a Gedcom from it about once a month to Ancestry as I too have a DNA test on there as well as FMP and Gedmatch Genesis. I don't trust Ancestry with my research, it's bad enough...

Ancestry's 'new' hint system
Has anyone noticed that Ancestry has again messed up the hint system? Now you have to click on the hint which takes you to a panel on the RHS and you have to click on that to see the document or transcription. Even the transcription has been altered so as you can only see the source by pressing yet ...
