Re: Creating UDF items in standard record
Hi, Mike Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I'm trying to extend support for Evidence Explained style citations. With this style there are three components: source list entry, full reference note, and short reference note. This is the GEDCOM source record mapping, I'd like to use: SOUR.TIT...

Creating UDF items in standard record
Is there a way to create custom tags in a standard record (in this case a Source record)? I attempted to use fhCreateItem() but it returns Null.
My knowledge of Lua is basic. I suspect there is some way to do this because arbitrary records can be cloned.

Re: Mode-less GUI with iuplua in FH?
Thanks Mike for the reply. I suspected that was the case, since plugins are primarily used for manipulating the underlying dataset. It is probably by design to prevent race hazards and collisions between records being changed via FH GUI and Plugin GUI at the same time.

Mode-less GUI with iuplua in FH?
Is it possible to launch a mode-less GUI using the iuplua library functions as a FH plugin? Experiments with iup.GetParam() suggest that it creates modal dialogues only. I'm thinking that using iup.dialog() and iup.show() would create a modeless dialog but it still may not possible to shift focus fr...

Re: Entering Evidence! Style citations
Thanks Helen. It's good to know we share the same approach.

Entering Evidence! Style citations
Perhaps other users out there may be using Evidence Explained style citations. If so, I'd be interested to learn how you use the FH interface to enter them. So far, I'm happy with the approach I am using (but maybe I could be happier). My approach goes like this ... Use 'Source.Title' as a free-form...

Re: Fact Sets: Probate, Property Records
Mike: Thanks for your reply. You've given me more to think about before deciding on the best approach. If I can get Grantor/Grantee labeling without sacrificing GEDCOM compatibility, all the better. I need to play with this some more before it sinks in. Jan: Hi neighbor! I'm also in N. California. Y...

Re: Fact Sets: Probate, Property Records
Thanks for your suggestions. I carry some baggage from using RootsMagic for several years, so the idea of creating Facts "on-the-fly" is something I'm accustomed to. My FH version is 6, so I was especially interested in using the named witness feature for the non-principal parties involved in an eve...

Fact Sets: Probate, Property Records
Hello everyone,
First post here.
I have a need for some custom facts for U.S. centric probate and property records (grantee/grantor deeds).
I checked the Knowledge Base but didn't see anything that matched.
I don't want to re-invent the wheel, so I thought I'd ask first.
