Re: Fact Types
In Adrian's example, I'd have the Occupation as Clergyman, then a Custom Attribute, Grade, for Archbishop and Title of Archbishop of Canterbury. I use grade for Apprentice, Journeyman, Master Constable, Sergeant, Inspector Priest, Rector, Bishop Etc which then allows me to assign a perìod to a singl...

Re: Query on Address fields
The thing about the Work with Data reports (at least in V5) is that they include the facts for everyone in the database whereas I'd like to be able to restrict them to just related or Pool 1 individuals.

Re: Fact Query for Electoral Roll help please
Thanks for the thoughts.
I'd ruled out being able to code a query for finding widows and spinsters with a residence or census fact pre-1918, purely down to my skill-level.
Based on no evidence at all, I think the number of false hits I'd get would greatly outweigh the true ones

Fact Query for Electoral Roll help please

Redacted entries in the 1939
Has anyone ideas of dealing with redacted entries in the 1939 Register set There are 2 scenarios 1 You think you know who the entry is 2 You don't For 1/ take my grandparents There they are in the house I visited many times. There's a redacted entry. My Dad was 12 at the time. Of course it's him. Un...

Re: Expression for Inclusion in 1939 Census Help please
Not proving you wrong, but I couldn't get it to work without the NullDate test Adding the test to the birth added entries from wills and Marriage witnesses where I only have a name. Not a worry for the diagrams, but useful to add as the bottom row of a query (which I had previously restricted to Rel...

Re: Expression for Inclusion in 1939 Census Help please
After fruitless attempts with IsEmpty, Not(Exists) and > Today(), found NullDate which seems to have done the trick =IsTrue(Not(Exists(%INDI.CENS[year=1939]%)) and Not(HasFlag(%INDI%,"Foreign")) and (EstimatedBirthDate(%INDI%,EARLIEST,2) < DateAt(1939,9,28)) and IsTrue((EstimatedDeathDate(%INDI%,LAT...

Re: Expression for Inclusion in 1939 Census Help please
Thanks Mike
To answer
Why is the 1939 expression any different from other Census years?
I'm guessing that the Estimated Death function of anyone in the 1911 Census is before today's date so there is never a null value produced

Expression for Inclusion in 1939 Census Help please
I show icons where I haven't found entries for an individual in a census. They're already pretty longwinded but the one for 1939 is failing, I think because where an estimated death date is in the future, it gives a null return I have so many IsTrues (are they all needed??) and brackets, I'm just ge...

Re: Addresses - Suggestion for Best Practice
Hi Consider something like Kensington Church Street instead of Zanzibar Street Won't you have to type all the way up to Kensington at least to see whether you already have an address entry, as you might also have entries for Kensington High Street, Kensington Mews, Kensington Gardens, Road, Street e...

You maybe thinking of FT Analyser, which isn't actually part of FH, but loads the FH Gedcom into it and gives similar reports to those you mentioned.

Hi I could be being dim, but either the Named List Approach wrt to Repository visits isn't well described, or it is and I don't get it. Residence greyed out in AS4
I have started using AS4 and have a problem with some residence options being greyed out in Baptisms and Marriages In Baptisms I can only set the "Individual Residence", not the Father's Residence or Mother's Residence This isn't actually a problem (so far) as the text in those fields is auto-comple...
