Hi Mike,
Yes. The query type is 'Individual'.
Sadly, there was no way back for the hard drive, the MS tool wasn't able to repair the problem, so I've lost some data and settings. A harsh lesson.
Thanks for your help Mike - i'll give a whirl.

Query for source note
Hi, I've recently had a computer failure so I'm now having to re-do a lot of my settings. I previously had a customised column in the records window which run from the Query. (for Probate Value) The problem is, I'm trying to find the exact Source note field so I can re-run this query. See the screen...

Saving customised column configurations on records lists
I recently had to re-install Windows 10 due an a wireless driver issue. It's been painful to re-set a number of customised settings (i.e. diagram boxes based on individual's flags, etc.) What I would love to see is the settings for customised columns on the records list saved, by default to the user...

If this the diagram type you are looking for :- Select View on the main toolbar. Scroll down and select Standard Diagram Types then Descendent Chart 5 gen. Tree type : Individual (will show the spouse in the descendant's box) Root Person : Add your GGX5 (browse from your individuals list) Then click...

Re: Timeline export to Excel
I hope your problem is now fixed, in case it hasn't I can only share my recent experience :- I am a BT Broadband (infinity) customer. I found I couldn't access a number of web sites, to name a few : Tesco.com, ASDA.Com, Telegraph.co.uk, Sky News, Lidl.co.uk, Liverpool Echo, there could be a lot more...

Re: Probate values (where to store this ?)
Hi Mike, I have [Windows 10 update] and I am beginning to show the signs of regret. I've had other symptoms like not being able to download photos from a camera's SD card so I had to copy them across manually. If I relaunched FH 6, I guess I would go to the downloaded file and activated it and it wo...

Re: Probate values (where to store this ?)
Hi Mike, I have followed your instructions and hope this all works out for future updates. I copied the file path C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Fact Types\Custom\ and found all the different copies of the Death and Burial1 file. I deleted all the other copies, I didn't need and renamed ...

Re: Probate values (where to store this ?)
Mike, It's a but weird, I've carried out the Tools/Fact Sets type check. The Death or Burial fact set wasn't listed. When you try to upload it again. Windows/FH acknowledges it's there :- "Install fact definitions for Fact Set 'Death or Burial1" ? <OK> "There is already an existing fact set named "D...

Re: Probate values (where to store this ?)
Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply. I uploaded the file Death or Burial.fhf file, but not sure what what should have happened. In the property box/fact set list there isn't a combined Death or Burial fact. I have a custom Burial fact and the standard Death Fact. Also there is no Customs Tab (in case I h...

Probate values (where to store this ?)
Hi, What I would like to do is to store the actual probate amounts against the "Probate fact" From what I can see there is no 'fact-value' field to enter this against the fact. I've also read the Knowledge base article about adding this within a customized Wills tab : fhugdownloads:contents:property...

Re: Check and Repair Media Links
Hi Mike, Two cases appear to be happening :- 1) If there's a possibility of more than 1 file, the pop up occurs, list the file and you select the one you want. This I can understand. 2) Th other is when there is non pop up, the plug in has found the correct media but there is still a 'File Save' pro...

Re: Check and Repair Media Links
Do as it does now by prompting the user to seek another folder only after all the positive matches are found. Am I right in thinking it's currently a manual prompt, on every occasion , that the plug in is trying to link media, whether there could be a suitable match already there ? Thanks for consid...

Check and Repair Media Links
Hi, There might be a multiple file issue on my drive, so apologies if the plug in works partly the way I would like it to. I've just started to reconnect some of my media. Although the plug in works, is there an improvement planned whereby you can select the parent folder, get it to search through a...

Re: Highlighting facts
Hi Mervyn, I'm pretty much familiar with adding flags to drawings, from the query result set, etc. It just seemed peculiar why flags applied to individual records and not fact result sets too. I can live without it, but it seemed natural (in the case described above) to set flags off a fact set resu...

Thanks David.
I'm still left feeling why it's not possible to set flags on fact set results.

Re: Finding second marriages
I'm a relative novice when it comes to writing queries, and willing to see better or more elegant methods.
Surely : Exclude if %INDI.~SPOU[2]>% is null will filter out all partnerships if a marriage isn't/wasn't present ?
Appreciate your advice.

Re: Finding second marriages
I created a report to try to do something similar and to remove partnerships where people were never married, separated (& not married) or an unmarried couple. I think it covers all the cases in my tree but if there is a proper query to do this then I would be happy to see it :- Create Individual cu...

I previously quoted : "Update : I created a fact query from the standard set. added one filter on the row tab : Add if %FACT.NOTE2% contains 'WIP' or however you wish to enter label. The result pointed directly to the person and to the fact(s)." Unquote. I'm suspecting even this method is not entire...

Re: Highlighting facts
Although I'm sure there's a better way, which someone will post up. For me, I would use a common phrase "W.I.P.". Place this in the note field for the fact. Run the query "Contains text" add "W.I.P." in the search criteria. If necessary add these to a new named list called "W.I.P." where you will pi...

Wish List Filter
Hi,
Not sure if some of the wish list items have been taken up or not, but I'm guessing by the dates, some have.
Can you add a filter to show all the wishes which were taken up and the ones which which haven't ?
Thanks.
