I re-entered all my data when moving from FTM some years ago. I've never regretted it - everything is in the same format and I'm happy with it in a way I never was in FTM. It took an exceedingly long time but was so worth it

I would do this: 1) change the surname of the child you want to move so that it has an 'x' at the front - this will make it easy to identify later. 2) right-click the child and choose 'unlink'. 3) choose the correct marriage and click 'add child'...'link existing record' 4) type x into the surname b...

Try this:
right-click on the diagram and choose 'Diagram options'
Go to the boxes tab and have a play in there - it's fairly intuitive.
Check out the other tabs whilst you're at it!

Thanks very much Mike - I hadn't appreciated that text boxes could do so much! It's an excellent workaround for what I want. One other question about this - is it possible to format the text produced in this way? For example, can I colour the names of the individuals depending upon their sex? If not...
