Why do my charts disappear after saving when I insert another diagram on the same page with a rectangle round it? I do this sometimes to add a small family tree (usually one generation)for a spouse.

Three Cheers for Jane
I don't know how I would have managed to get to grips with FH without Jane's help - always a speedy response to queries & on the ball with the technical details
Frankly I would be lost without recourse to her vast expertise.
Many thanks for all your hard work & commitment, Jane

I've created a custom query based on groups/caste, which has come out great. First time I've used this facility (there's always something new to learn!). The list looks haphazard though - don't know what it is based on. Will it put the list in alphabetical order for me ie surname, then first name wi...

Actually, just tried it & I can't see how to save it as a comma sep file etc. I'm worried it produces a complete version of the whole FH file.
Could I produce a list using the caste/group label instead?

Thanks for the info re diagrams in V4. Getting a name index sounds very involved. I don't just want an index for a particular diagram, but for all the people in them (ie about 650+). I can't understand why I can't get a list of all the individuals on the system into an index, when I can see them all...

I am still using V3 as I am in the process of producing charts for a publication & don't want the hassle of working out a new system - it has taken me a fair while to manage getting what I want from V3. However, I plan to upgrade when I have everything ready, so that I can transfer charts to PDF for...

Diagrams in Book Form
Re my recent query concerning producing diagrams & publishing where families are interconnected, I wonder if this TCGR software would be of extra help. Has anyone any comments on using it?

I've searched the text scheme editor but don't see where you can change surname from upper to lower case. Is this facility in V3?

Thanks Jane Yes I am reducing the number of generations, & having diagrams for those as well, but it is still not satisfactory. Also left to right is not much better, & I do need to include specific birth, bap data etc with each name The narrative reports are very good, but I need diagrams to make r...

I am planning to publish (hard copy)the connected family trees I have, possibly with my Family Society, as they are of particular interest to others. I'll also be including a fair bit of text. For the last couple of weeks I have been going thru all the set ups, specs etc, but still fail to get diagr...

Resizing a diagram to fit the paper
I am hoping to publish the trees of connected families I have to my own family tree, perhaps through my family society or self pub. For the last couple of weeks I have concentrated on trying to format the diags onto A4 size,& have mastered the various ways available for doing this - ie setting the s...
