Re: Census UK Tab - my take

I add the census image via AS.
The census tab itself lists the census but not the image.
If you go to a person where the census details has been added. Use the facts tab and that will list the4 census of the person that has been added from here you prompt the census image.

Re: Census UK Tab - my take

I haven't worked on census tab What I do is save the census image in a file. I have a folder in FH Projects called family information. In this folder are loads of sub folders with surnames including census and BMD certificates. Using AS I add the appropriate image to the person I am adding details t...

Re: narrative report - excluding some aka names

When I do a narrative report I save it in RTF then save it again as a word document. From the second save I edit it in the way I would like it to be. Most of the editing is to enlage the images like making census image a full page

Re: Exporting to Ancestry Error

I export mine to FTM and sychonise the names with Ancestery. A green lef appears next to all names indicating sources on Ancestry. I prompt the green flag and a list os sources appear I prompt details on the list which leads my to Ancestry where I find what I am looking for. When on Ancestry a new l...

Re: Infant & Juvenile Mortality

As others have said I don't save indexes.
Ancestry sometime lists the BMD reference details of a person and I save that detail by taking a screen shot (year Quarter Vol and Page No) and copying it to the person it refers to. I find this better than using the tool bar

Re: Error When Importing to FTM 2019

Sorry Mike I didn't make myself clear I haven't had any name errors. If I did I wouldn't worry about them.
I only import things to FTM to provide connections to Ancestry. If any name errors appeared on FTM I would just ignore them as FH is my default tree and I only work on that

Re: Error When Importing to FTM 2019

Personally I am not bothered by name errors when I copy my details to FTM. To me FH is my default tree and I work on that all the time. I use FTM to provide links to Ancestry

Re: Where Born

Whenever you use a place name make sure it is fully correct including the county name. One problem some places were moved from one county to another when the county boundaries were changed in (I think) 1974. You will have to decide whether to use the old county name or the new one. You can keep the ...

Bear in mind there are similar place names in different parts of the country. As an example there Is Cottingham, East Yorkshire and Cottingham, Northamptonshire. Another example is Scalby, North Yorksire (near Scarborough) and Scalby, East Yorkshire near Gilberdyke

Re: Findmypast 1921 census discount

I have downloaded one image. This was of my father and his first family. In previous census they all started with the reference RG11, RG12 etc followed by poice number, Folio and Page number. The 1921 census does not have any of these so it makes it hard to save them for identification. All I can fi...

Re: Who should you add to your tree?

I tend to put names as long as there is a link to them even if not directly related tome. FTM does a good description of names linking to me and example is 'uncle of wife of grand nephew of wife of 1st cousin twice times removed of Victor' It is not doing an harm to the tree and wont show on narrati...

Re: Narrative reports

This my option set up. Just like your posting. This doesn't include census images. I have increased the max number of images to see if any are shown.
Perhaps I should open a previous back up and see if I get the images in the narrative report.

Thanks for your reply Mike Here is another image. For the 1881 census As shown here the arrow used to be blue. This time it is grey. I prompt the blue picture near the red cross.
