Last Updated - question
I had an unsourced marriage date and location for a couple. I tracked down the PR for the marriage and then used AS to create a new marriage record for this couple. Last updated in the Records window for the Families tab shows the family record as being updated on the day that I changed the marriage...

I have a modified query (attached) which may be more useful for you BUT it does have a bit more information than you require.

Re: Working with Tables and Columns
However, in Helen's screenshot, there is another icon between the <> Code (Shift+Alt+X) icon and the Insert Columns icon. It looks like <> ▼ so does that indicate another missing feature that Editors should have? No Mike this is not one for Editors I am the only one who uses this as it allows the r...

The last update to this plugin removed the ability for editors to have access to the icon. I have done a code change and that icon is now available to you and the other editors.

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.3
I know what you mean, but it is standard behaviour for a grid like this to highlight based on the actual column header being clicked rather than a cell within the grid, even it the cell represents a heading. This is how Excel works for example. To implement the change I'd also have to alter the way...

Re: New FindMyPast Premium Subscription
Finally got my subscription sorted with FMP Customer Service so back to the proper Ultimate but it is showing the upgrade to Premium at $45.17 including a 15% discount not the £19.99 that has been mentioned. It seems that FMP has various prices for everyone which seems odd.

Re: New FindMyPast Premium Subscription
I have obviously had a curse placed on me as I did not get an answer to my email this morning, but just received notice that I had paid the full amount of £199.99 for the Premium subscription, with no loyalty discount! Hopefully a telephone call has sorted it out and I have been promised a refund. ...

I can confirm that the problem I reported with templated sources is now fixed.
A UI comment to consider:
If I want to delete a column I need to select the grey box above the yellow column header box more naturally I would expect to highlight the column name and not the box above it.

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2
I thought that the way you described it and also from the help file if the essentials templates are installed in FH and loaded into AS that is all you need to do. However, if I try and convert I get this error message Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 20.00.49.png This message may make sense to you but it do...

It looks the same to me. The Source Template Editor is used initially to link to the...

Nick I now have this installed in my VM and it is sort of working. The VM is Windows 10. The essentials templates are installed in my FH project. However my Templated Source screen is not the same as yours in the Help. Have I missed something or is it broken in my VM? Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 17.47....

Re: Testing Ancestral Sources v7.5.2
Do the 'current' 32 and 64 bit versions of AS (v7.4.4) work? I'm just trying to understand if this is a change that has occurred with this test version or a general issue. Nick I usually use AS in a VM but occasionally in PoM. As a result it is AS v5.2 that currently works in PoM I have never updat...

Just FYI neither the 64bit or 32bit will run in the current version of PlayOnMac. The 64bit says it is not running on a 64bit processor and will not install. The 32bit installs but crashes on running.

Re: GEDCOM 7.0
Why is having a “root individual” important in a GEDCOM? What happens in a merge with different root individuals? Does root individual change with every report, or based on who is viewing the database? If the GEDCOM v7 committee thinks this is a good concept they have not thought it through or beyo...

Re: GEDCOM 7.0
If you subscribe to the github link in my earlier post you will see that considerable development is ongoing in the V7 Gedcom spec it is now up to 7.0.10 as issues get fleshed out. There is already discussion on V7.1 which is proposed to include things like root individual. As @Mike says with commer...

Re: Combining .jpg files together
I will go back to my earlier post use the Free Adobe online editor to combine 2 pdf's they are saved as searchable pdf's no need to ocr just a one step process. Irfanview under these circumstances is useful only if you want a image of the pdf's imho.

There are several free online sites that combine several pdf's to one pdf. The main one that I use is Adobe (who wrote the pdf spec) at https://www.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/online/merge-pdf.html

We could split it with a sub menu under apps between Windows, Mac, Android & iOS or just make use of categories in the page to differentiate between the various os's.

To add the chain link to the article title would need some serious custom coding which from a maintenance point of view I don't think we want to get into.

Re: Known As (AKA) name type in GEDCOM
Colin, perhaps you can explain why the custom Attribute using a FACT tag does not display its value. Is it that your plugin does not handle GEDCOM 5.5.1 or some other reason? Mike It does handle 5.5.1 and extracts data from standard Gedcom tags. Bruce has sent me the two gedcoms and I am going to d...
