It is worth looking at the Privacy Badger plugin for Firefox if you use it.
Also the Facebook container plugin is useful if you use Firefox and Facebook.
There maybe similar plugins for other browsers.

You need the download file that you got when you upgraded from V5. You did keep it somewhere safe didn't you? There are full details in the knowledge base about this see how_to:family_historian_licence_problems|> Family Historian Licence Problems.

Re: Populating a Census Entry
No you can do it all in AS.
You can add a new individual and then add their family in the usual way using the spouse father child etc.

Re: Putting your research online on your own website.
Nick I just did a TNG install and then an import of my FH Gedcom. IIRC I just used the cPanel File Manager to copy the TNG zip file to the root folder and then used it to extract the files direct. The database I created using the cPanel option. It just worked. I did use Krystal for one of the sites ...

@Nick
One of my dev sites uses MariaDB and my TNG test instance runs happily on that. You may be better off reaching out to TNG support for some advice, they do offer a hosting package which does support TNG but you may pay more than you need to for that.

Re: GEDCOM 5.5.5 maintenance release
v5.5.5 is not an official release from Family Search the authors of the specification. v5.5.1 was in draft form for 10 years or so. V5.5.1 was made a release version recently (last year iirc) by Family Search. As to what version is in FH V7 we will have to wait until the Release Notes are available.

The inbuilt browser is part of Windows and so is IE based.
Switch to using an external browser and it will work fine. You make the change in Tools > Preferences > Internet Data Matches.

Even though V4 was my first experience of FH and AS I have never used AS flags so will not miss them.

Re: Exporting sources to FTM
Mark The majority of limitations that you mention are the constraint of Gedcom 5.5. You say you don't want to use a plugin but don't explain why. Plugins enhance the capability of Family Historian. The Export Gedcom File plugin has settings for FTM and many other programs and this overcomes the majo...

Re: Orientation
I suspect that you are not adding it correctly given your description. Your birth certificate should be added to the birth fact as a media image and not as a picture for the individual. If you open the Sample Project that comes with FH check the birth record for the root person Ian Munro and see how...

Also Codeweavers have a beta version of Crossover for Chromebook. I use the Mac version of Crossover to run Family Historian on my MacBook Air and so it may allow the running of FH on a Chromebook. Give it a try and report back.

I just used the edit button to remove all except Witness. Should I find another on an entry I will happily use edit to add the new role at that time and then remove it again after that use.

Re: Source for new Individual
I have done this in the past using auto source citation. Create the source (the book in your case). I then turn on Auto Source Citation and then add the individuals and it assigns the source to their whole record as you create it so you need to be wary of adding additional facts to the individual th...

Are you using the internal browser or external browser? If you are using the internal one then it may be worth swapping to the external one.

It is EXIF data not exe. There are tools available that can remove it however that is not necessary as FH ignores the EXIF data as per Mikes earlier reply. It seems from your comment that Rootsmagic does use the EXIF data. I also use a Canon scanner and just rotate the image after the scanner has sa...
