If my host didn't let me have control of my server to do stuff like this I think I would be looking for a new host. There are plenty out there.

You can have as many as you like. One site I am a member of has over 2500 members controlled in this way. It then saves all the hard work you were proposing.

Read up on htaccess. It can prevent access to any file or folder without login. It can also redirect your php without changing the file extension. Still as Mike is going to have a look for you that is the other way BUT if it were me I would just use htaccess for the initial login and that would prot...

This is something that you could knock a php server side web application to do quite easily. Don't forget php and html pages are only simple text files so this is something you could do with a macro in MSWord or similar document editing programme. It is something Dreamweaver could do if you have it ...

I haven't used the create webpages functions in FH but my comments relate to standard files. Any html file can have the php file extension instead of html and it will display fine in a browser. So you should be able to do what you want. You will probably have to alter any code in the FH generated pa...

If you believe the date of birth to be accurate according to FreeBMD below there are only 2 possibles with both the first names. http://www.fhug.org.uk/images/uploads/2.png FreeBMD as you can see gives you the references to order the certificates BUT these are the certificates that you have already ...

Find Duplicate Individuals Version 1.5+
Mike I have now had a think about your question of yesterday. I am not so sure about Approximate (or Calculated) dates. What do others think? How should I evaluate for example 4 July 1888 (Approx) or May 1777 (Approx) as opposed to 1666 (Approx)? If I call them option 1, 2 and 3 in the order that yo...

Mike, I want to re-read and fully understand your suggestions yesterday before I answer. In between times I agree with Bill just because the forenames are the wrong way round this should not deduct any points as I have several instances of christening order being reversed in later life (particularly...

Find Duplicate Individuals Version 1.5+
Mike, Just FYI v 1.6 did not replace v1.5 for me. As you can see from the screenshot it added a second instance with -1 at the end of the plugin name. It seems to be taking a little longer to run than v1.4 but not significantly. It is throwing more duplicates than before and virtually all of them ar...

Mike
Thanks for this.
I have just tried it out. It has found a few more than 1.4 some new ones (I suspect lower scores before as they aren't new records). The gender match that I had before is now gone.
I will spend some more time this afternoon looking at more records and let you know.

You are more than welcome to a copy of my Gedcom with some genuine ones as well as ones that aren't including the wrong gender ones. It has around 1700 individuals in it.
How do I get it to you?

Another way would be to use some CD burning software on your other PC and create an ISO image of the install CD. Then use a programme such as PowerISO on the netbook with the iso image you have just created stored on a memory stick and do an install from there.

Mike Just a thought couldn't your store RIN's as pairs in the external non duplicates table. Then once the plugin has run do a compare on pairs of RIN's before displaying the dataset. Or is this not possible or what you are already suggesting described differently? One way may be to assign each pair...

Mike, [grin]V1.4 works fine it returns more matches than before and seems to be working much better for me. I think that -5 for the Gender is insufficient as I am still getting one showing up with a score of 17 so perhaps nearer to -10 might be a better bet. Thanks very much for your continued work ...
